Magnetic Ride Control

It would be easier to level the front than to level the rear. With the front you just need a spacer to move the lower shock mount up the relative distance and the same for the shock sensor. On the rear if you lower the truck you will only be able to lower the lower shock mount as the upper rear mount is already as high as it can go. If you lower the rear shock mount it will be hanging lower than the rear diff and will compromise rear end ground clearance.

I have already looked into this option on my 2014, I lower mine in the rear and it changed how the rear shocks dampen because it compressed them 2" deeper into the travel and valving.

Do you have an escalade with the magnetic ride? Because those are the only other vehicles with it in 2014.

No, I have a 2014 Sierra AT. The principle of the magnetic shock system is easy to understand in relation to mounting positions for the shock and the sensor.

Pretty sure the mag on the truck is not the dual spool set up on the z-28, I Just mentioned the article as additional info on shocks. If the trucks use the dual spool that would be a first. I understand the mag-ride on the trucks to be the electro-mag control that changes the viscosity of the fluid in the shock?

You would be correct. The spool valve shocks on the Z/28 are a first for a production vehicle( aside from the low volume Aston Martin One-77) The ZL1 Camaro on the other hand has the same magnetic shocks.

I was reading on the corvette forums that you can remove the shocks and have GM program the vehicle to realize there gone. I wonder If they could do it on these vehicles then you could just add the shocks you want.

Do the mag shocks do anything when there's a heavy load in the bed, such as raise it up at all?

Yes there self leveling.

I just bought a 2015 Denali and I'm having a 7" Full Throttle Suspension kit installed. I spoke to them and they have apparently engineered the kit to work with the Magneride, and the shop doing the work has done several with very good results.

I'm coming from a lifted Ford with terrible ride so we'll see what sort of difference this makes.

That would be sweet, can you post your results and pictures in this topic when it's finished? When are you having it done? Jb looked high and low and can't find anything lifting the magneride.

The truck goes in the shop tomorrow for the JL audio components, and to the next shop on the 18th for the lift, rims and tires. I will have them snap some photos and I will of course take a million photos myself.

It's going to look really good. Do you think you could post the pictures in this thread, or link your thread so I don't need to look for it? I really want to see it, and what they actually do to the Magneride shocks. I see your from Canada, what province?

Thanks DangerDick. Would you mind asking them what do they do specifically with the level sensors and does the system need recalibrated or reprogrammed somehow?
