Active Fuel Management

Funny, talking to my cousin over TG dinner on Thursday, he said that the AFM stumble is the #1 complaint he sees (he's a service writer for a GMC dealership).

My 2007 Avalanche had AFM and you couldn't tell when it went in/out of V4 mode. Traded it in on a 2015 Sierra on Friday, and during the drive home I noticed that going in/out of AFM is MUCH more pronounced. In some cases it feels like the trans went in/out of converter lockup.

Doesn't really bother me, just found it odd.

Would be a lot better if it came in after 60 MPH, hardly notice after 60. I run M5 till 60 much smoother.

Different question related to the GMC Active Fuel Management system. Do you guys also hear any ticking or weird noise coming from the AFM? I was told by the local GMC dealer that all the trucks with this AFM make some sort of noise. Is this true or Bulsh?
