Column Shifter Loose/Sloppy

I have recently noticed that when in park and drive the column shifter has up and down play that it didn't have before. Does anyone else have a loose column shifter?

Mine is loose...but no different than my 07

Do you think this is something the dealer would fix under warranty? The shifter has about an inch of up and down travel when in drive.

The question is: Is this considered "NORMAL" by GM standards?

 

I suspect they will give you the "NORMAL" treatment whether it looks sloppy or not.

Older style has a T30 bolt that holds the shifter mechanism tight. Don't know about the new style.

My shifter has about 1/2" of up play while in D. Seems about right compared to previous gens I've driven.
