If you are wanting a compact pistol, the Glock 19 and M&P 9c are two good choices. Same goes for a subcompact, Glock, M&P, and the Springfield XDs 9mm which is even smaller & thinner than the others.

Whatever you do, make sure you are comfortable and accurate with the pistol you choose to carry.

Another CZ fan. So classy. I shot my first P07 compact a few months ago and was amazed how smooth it was. It was of course the fancy pro series (which is $1100 or so) but still, lovely gun.

I am in love with my CZ. It is so accurate. Im not the best marksman, but i can hit steel plate body targets at 70 YARDS! Yep yards, not feet. Trigger breaks like glass and i can carry it at 4 oclock all day with no issues. I was raised around SA/DA autos so im not a big striker-fire guy, so the CZ having an external hammer just feels right as thats what im comfortable with.

It will be marked on the slide! Also gen 4 has interchangeable back pieces to get better fut

The Gen4 Glocks have "Gen4" roll marked on the slide, it will say "Gen4" on the box label, have pyrimid textured grip, changeable backstraps, larger magazine release that is reversable, the trigger bar will have a bump on it, it will have "MBS" on the right side of the frame in the area of the dust cover, and you will receive 3 magazines, the backstraps, and a tool to change them, and an extra longer roll pin in the pistol box.

 

If it looks like the Glock in the picture of the post your quoted, it's a Gen4.
