Ziebart Undercoating

I noticed when the Chevy garage puts my truck on the lift it damages the wax protection on the frame. This is where the lifting points in the lift.

When working on the line, if you leaned against the chasis you would rub the wax off. Not down to care metal obviously, but by the end of the night you would have it all over your apron. You could easily rub it off if you tried.

That's exactly why GM needs to get rid of this crap for something else. If it's going to come off that easy then what good is it?

In reading this thread it was mentioned that Ziebart drills holes to apply their product, not so sure that that is true as my nephew had his '14 Silverado rustproofed & undercoated by Ziebart and no holes were drilled.

 

So far after one winter the frame looks good, no signs of peeling & flaking like what it would be with just the factory wax-like coating.

I think i might get ziebart. My frame has experienced almost 2 months of summer now and has some rust spots already. It was built in April. I want to talk with Ziebart tho to see how exactly their plan works.

Just had the dealership strip my frame and recoat it. There is a service bulletin out for rusting frames on 14-16's
