Window Vent Visors

I haven't added Vent Visors to my 2014, as I am very uncertain of what brand to go with.

I really like the look of the type that mount inside the window track. Very "Clean" look, and not bulky. But I've heard of some folks having trouble with this type staying put in the channel.

If you have the "In Channel" type, please post your thoughts. I would like to go this way but still not convinced this type works all that well.

I have the weathertech in channel ones. They clip in the window channel with clips not tape. So far really like them.

I also have Weathertechs and love them. They're also low profile. The front just slide in there, you just have to bend it to get it in there which is what's in the directions. The rears have 2 clips on each side that slide in the channel and hold the visor. I've had all of my windows down going 75 mph for a good while and no rattle or anything. I also like that they don't use tape at all. I had AVS stick on type on my old truck and one came undone and wouldn't stay so I'll always get in-channels from now on. Just make sure you do what the directions say. These once you install them you roll the window up and down 5 times and then keep the windows up for a full 12 hours straight to help them stay.

I have the WeatherTech's just on the front windows (no clips needed on fronts).. so far, not complaints.. can't wait til spring to try them with windows open!

I used EGR in-channel on my last 3 trucks ... No problems ... Great fit ... cost is a little less than WeatherTechs ... I believe their factory is in Cali.

You like the EGR? I'm thinking of a set. I had the WT and the rear ones are pure garbage imo. They fell off even with the clips and scratched my window. Now I'm gun shy on these deflectors.

I'm sure you didn't install the WT right. If the rear is installed correctly there's no way they would fall down. . I had mine installed wrong for about 3 months. But im sure the other are just as good

No offense but look around lots of other people with similar problems on the rear WT. I'm positive mine were installed correctly. Those clips only really go in one way. I left the windows up for several days and added 2 sided 3m tape. Mine did not come with any tape. Every time I would roll the window down, down they came about 1/2"-1 or so. I will say the fronts fit and looked nice.

Like i said i installed my wrong as well. Sounds like what you are saying you installed like i did the first time.. the wrong way. You've to like pinch the rear clips to get them in the rgt way.. the instructions from wt sucks.

I have Putco in channels. No problems with the backs coming off. Not sure if they use clips or not. I like how they are more square and have lines that match the truck.

The rear set of my Weathertechs actually fit more snug than my front once. The clips don't scratch the window either. When I put the window down they don't move at all, not even a little. The front ones did move in just a tad at first but they seemed to have stopped just before it started to get cold.

I got them last year when first released so maybe they have improved. The clips didn't actually scratch the glass. The rears slid down while on the highway last winter and some road salt got stuck in there.

I did as the directions said and after installing I left all of the windows up for 12 hours (after moving the window up and down 5 times). The next day after installing I went down the interstate and none of them moved while going 75 with all of the windows down. I bought mine in August. The clips for the rear did seem to be not really a pain, just had to make sure they were all the way in the channel.

I had looked into EGR in-channels since that's the brand hoodshield I have but I saw a review from someone with a '14 where it messed up the automatic windows in some way. I think they didn't allow the windows to go all the way up and wouldn't stay up or something. So just to be on the safe side I just got the Weathertechs and so far no complaints after about 5 months.

Whoever said that the EGRs messed up the auto window feature did not know what they were doing when they installed them. They fit perfect and were simple to install on my 1500 DC.
