Easy way to find the correct tire pressure to run:

 

Take the weight of your truck and divide it by 4. Then take that number and divide it by the load rating on the tire. That will give you a percentage of weight on each tire. Then take that number and multiply the max tire psi of your tire and there you have it, your recommended psi!!

 

Here it is in a formula:

 

6000 lbs. (weight of truck)/ 4 (number of tires)= 1500 lbs (approx. weight on each tire)

 

1500 lbs. (weight on each tire)/ 3525 lbs (what your tire is max rated for)= 0.4255 (move the decimal two spots and that's your percentage, but keep it in decimal form for right now)

 

0.4255 X 80psi (max tire psi)= 34 psi

 

34 psi is your recommended psi based on the max load of your tire and weight of your vehicle!

 

Hope this helps someone. Remember, this is recommended psi for best tire wear and overall performance. Of course you can change it up to find where you like it best

1. BFG does not recommend less than 35psi with these tires. 2. Your formula assumes perfect weight distribution. (depending on source it's 58%F/42%R) 3. Matching tire pressures to present weight of the vehicle is tempting...but it should be adjusted to GAWR/2. to cover your bases. NHT with 20's would be 42F/47R with this tire.

Great to hear you're liking your new BFG AT's. I put on a set just over a year ago on my truck and I can honestly say that they are by far the best tire I've owned!

 

Does the other side still have the full block white letters if you choose to put those facing out?

Yep they recommend 40 psi. I run 38 cold all around they warm up to about 41 after 15 min driving 4 me. I do l8ke them i knew i was going to take a little hit on mpg but that's what it is 4 me hopefully nicer weather yhe mpg vome up a little. But I'll be ok lol

I have 1K on mine and love them so far. Much quieter than I expected. I've only lost about 1mpg, but I'm running very light weight wheels. I'm running 45 psi for now as they are load range E.

It is me or these ko2's pick up tiny rocks in the sippings like there's no tomorrow? I wonder if those lil rocks will do damage in the long run.

That's the only downfall I can find with them is that they are stone throwers. Thankfully aside from camping in the summer I don't drive down a lot of stone roads. Definitely more dirt than stone roads.

Lucky you, we have about 7 months in a year where the city spray gravels on every single road, clean those out for summer and than spray them back on again.

 

What I find was the ko2's have cuts tangent to the tire at the base between sippings. Tiny rock chips get lodged in those cuts and cause the lug to swell up. This in turn made some sipping to wear on the edges, possibly reducing its ability to grip on ice and hard packed snow in the long run.

Oh geezz...That's not good and rather annoying I would imagine. Even in the gravel or stone roads I travel I find that they rarely ever get stuck to the point where they don't come out.

Long time lurker, first time posting. I finally got my tires put on yesterday. I went with the 275/65/18 on a stock setup. No issues with rubbing. I haven't been able to get tire pressures dialed in because of the temperature swings in SE VA. I'll drive it for a week to see how the balance feels and repost any issues later this week.
