thinking of buying

Alright so I'm thinking about buying a truck. It's a 2004 sierra 2500HD. Truck is a 6.0 with 250,000 miles on it. It runs and drives but needs some work. Guy thinks it has transfer case problems. body is not rusted but the bed is pretty beat up. He's asking 750! I would buy it to fix/clean and then sell for a profit. Opinions are welcomed. I'm going to see it today and I'll post up pictures. Also, if you were in the market for a truck like the one I described and it was mechanically sound, what would you pay for it. Assuming you aren't looking to fix or restore.

Thinks it has transfer case problems. For $750 it might be worth it. Take it for a good test drive to see what all IS possibly wrong with it. A new bed will cost you a bit, but if the engine and trans are still in good shape it may be a profitable purchase. I got my 2000 for $2500 and it has 364k miles on it.

I figure if I have 1800 tied up in it total, I could probably sell it for 5 at least

Also truck is an sle. Has cloth and push button 4x4

Not a bad price. You could turn a decent profit.....if there aren't any other "hidden" problems.

I couldn't image you could make that much profit on it... Even if the truck is clean, you said it still needs a bed and transfercase and probably a few other things here and there.. Even all fixed up can't imagine it going for much more then 3000 3500. It sounds like a really good project truck or a truck to have as a beater, Id buy it for 750 no question. IMO!
