Friend has one I can get very cheap.

It does look better but is it a direct swap and fit?

Will the trannys temp work also that's on the escalade cluster?

Now if I recall, the mileage will stay the same as its in my CPU memory correct?

Anything else I have to consider on this swap?

Mileage is stored in the cluster. So what the Escalade cluster reads now is that it will read in your truck. It is a direct swap and plug and play. Trans temp will work

Not saying you are wrong but I could swear we replaced a cluster on a Tahoe before & it read the same mileage. Well it sucks if the miles stay in the cluster as I think they are higher than mine

So it's in the ecu then?

I apologize. That wording was ambiguous.

No matter what vehicle the cluster is installed in, it will always display the original mileage. I.e. the donor vehicle's mileage.

All that data is in the cluster. The engine control unit just controls engine and transmission functions. The body control module controls other functions and allows access to full feature clusters on 03-06 which doesnt apply to you.

Ok, makes sense now.

So only on 03 + the clusters don't keep the miles in them?

Maybe it was an 03 newer we swapped out a cluster on.

03+ stores mileage as well. I did that swap. This whole generation stores it in the cluster

The cluster mileage in order to change needs to be programmed

Well dam I can swear we put an 02 truck cluster in a Tahoe & the mileage changed on the cluster....

O well

No. Only the oil life monitor stays the same
