Same here. My dad never did anything other than absolutely required maintenance. Hell the inside was so dirty I had to boil the cup holders!

Your's and Chris's build threads have personally been my research haven since y'all have been at it a little longer lol

Glad I can be of some help lol! My build is basically building a new truck!

My build is an example of what not to do. It is because I can never make up my mind on the end goal.

Going to change the exhaust next. My cats are completely shot and causing problems so they are coming off. Tho I don't want to loose all my low end like I did with straights on the last truck. My thoughts from the research I've done is no cats, stock y pipe, and a restrictive muffler like a si/so flowmaster 40 or 44 with a side exit. Possibly 2 1/4" pipes. Open to suggestions. I'm wanting to keep it "relatively cheap"

Swap the cats for some magnaflow units.

They will be added later on when money allows. I'm looking to spend no more than 200 atm

My ideal setup would be something similar to what you have now but will have to wait until other issues have been addressed

Going over the motor looking for the cause of a p0300 and find this coming from the throttle body. Have no idea what it is but pretty sure it goes on that port...5689ddc66686d20e57adeaf3ba5c3621.jpg

Well cleaning and reconnecting that did nothing for the P0300. Couldn't locate any vacuum leaks. I'm still leaning towards the restrictive exhaust causing it. Hopefully it's anything but a worn camshaft

I might cut my stock muffler off and add a Super 44 during my engine swap. Haven't decided yet. I know they sound damn good.

I've never heard the 44 in person just the 40. Is it better sounding? Reason I'm going flowmaster is Its more restrictive than stock so with no cats the performance should still be good in the low end. SHOULD

I heard one on Youtube. Sounds real good, can't imagine in person.

I don't like flowmasters, especially after they rust out and rattle. I like mufflers with a straight through design. More durable in the long run.
