I was talking about your truck. The stance is exactly what I'm looking for. How's the ride with the Fox shocks?

Sent from my SM-P900 using Tapatalk

The ride is just as good or better than stock. No complaints what so ever. The day I picked it up from being lifted, I almost felt like I went too high. The pictures really don't do justice to show how high it is. Now that I've had it like this for a few months, part of me wants to go bigger and wider stance. By putting the Toyo RT 35x12.5's on the stock 8.5 wide wheels, the tires are pretty much tucked in the fenders. This is great for keeping the rock chips to a minimum on my paint, but I'll probably still go to a wider custom wheel at some point. I'm letting some of the smoke clear after spending a big chunk on the Amp Research running boards, lift, tires, Sundown sub, amp, tinted windows, Husky mats, Beeds coating,,,,,. The wife loves the truck, but I know when to slow down on the spending. lol

I had to order my truck to get the options I wanted. I ordered late Jan. 2015 and picked it up yesterday. It will be going in next week to have to step rails added but otherwise I love it...

NICE TRUCK!

Traded my 2012 Silverado 1500 extended cab for a new 2016 2500HD crew cab. Only have one decent picture right now, which was taken inside the dealership the day I bought it. The weather has been crumby ever since. Will be starting a build thread soon, as I have a few mild mods planned. Loving the new truck so far! I should have bought a 2500HD a long time ago!

Wicked shine ? What type of wax and or what did you do to make her look like that ? Sweet.

I honestly just washed it; it might be the fact that I took the pics in shade, which gave it much more depth in reflections : )

We are not nearly done with winter here in the Northeast but I could use your cleaning talent. : ) .

Here is my girl "Allison" resting in Saguenay Quebec last week after making a two day jaunt from NYC to Pittsburg NH to Saguenay Quebec.

Went to the self serve car wash on our return to NH. I only used the water to attempt to clean her but it was of little assistance. I didn't have the heart to run the car wash brush over her. Come spring I think I would have regretted it.

Stay safe ...

Nice rig. Did you buy the trailer directly @ the factory in Boonville or from a dealer? Been past it on my tris to Maine.

2016 regular cab long bed 4x4, 1616 miles on it now, liking it a lot.

The nephew pestered me to get a GMC, because of the better lighting. I wasn't too keen on the black plastic fillers in the bumper. I guess I could've gotten then dipped "chrome"

It's too bad that the non-fog lamp equipped trucks couldn't get a "plain" bumper. That is what has turned me off the GMCs since the GMT800 models (big gaping black "holes" in the bumper).

Yep, it's an old school, small town dealership. There aren't too many of those around any more. And, thanks! Those are just the standard 17" LT rims. I'm going to run them through the winter, and then upgrade to some aftermarket rims. The chrome 18's were an extra $1,295, and I'm not a huge fan of chrome anyway...so I just went with the cheaper ones. Had the dealer swap the little 265/70/17's for some 285/75/17's. They're 34" tall, and help fill out the wheel wells much better.

It's better than my 2012 1500 in many ways! It may be hard to believe, but the driving manners are much more smooth and comfortable. The 6.0/6L80E/4:10 drivetrain is a great setup. It accelerates without revving to the moon (unlike my old 5.3). And, it will hold 6th gear on the highway, regardless of hills or head winds (also unlike my old 5.3). It sits taller. The brakes are better. The factory exhaust sounds better. The cab is quieter and sealed up better. It will handle the weight of my camper/ATV/camping gear much better. It's just a whole lot more truck than my old 1500. It's also the first crew cab I've owned, and I already enjoy the extra room. I also like the new dash, new interior, and new technology...although I realize those last few things aren't specific to the 2500HD platform.

Big Whiskey,

Nice traditional GM HD look. Is that a 4x4? Thanks.

Thank you. I'm really enjoying it! Yes, it's a 4x4 Z71.

    • Because that is IDIOTIC, much like this question. They've already been forced to do it by past administrations - why would you roll that back when it's a GOOD thing?  WHO IS ARGUING FOR LOWER MILEAGE???? 😂  NOBODY IS!!   I'm certainly not! What I want is RELIABLE vehicles again that are worth the price paid!    I don't get your logic here ...   In 2003 I paid $2,200 for our '86 Grand Marquis. It's STILL running and I've never been inside the engine, aside for the timing cover since it was leaking, so I threw a new timing set in since that makes sense. Transmission is ORIGINAL. Electric pump in the gas tank is ORIGINAL. Rear end is ORIGINAL. I'd have to hit my head REAL hard to want to pay $60k or more for a car that still can't come close to the comfort, seating and storage space, or reliability of this one. Nothing is even in the ball park! Hundreds of thousands of brands and models have been built and sent to the crusher while this one keeps on going!   https://postimg.cc/Z9XRrCSg   I've got a whole fleet of cars, motorcycles, and a truck close to this age for summer and winter. No one could pay me enough to buy anything built this century. I have zero use for any it.
    • Since I'm the one who has to fix them when they break, I'll take vehicles over 30 years old all day, EVERY day, over ANY modern crap. Have you attempted any repairs on anything built after 2006? It's a friggin nightmare, and gets worse the newer the model year.    If I had the will or desire, I can make any car of any age outside of a Model T (I don't have THAT much will ...) just as powerful, comfortable, and have all the tech the new stuff does, and get pretty close in mileage, too. I prefer SIMPLICITY. The less the vehicle has, the less to fix WHEN it breaks, not IF.   I'm glad you snot-nosed punks don't like them. More for us, plus that keeps the prices from climbing more than they already have.👍
    • Bringing this thread back on topic. I just noticed the incredible lack of bright chrome across the entire new lineup. Even the Denali has tinted the brightwork in the grille and has none elsewhere. None of them have chrome bumpers. As far as I can tell there aren't even chrome mirror caps. I'm curious if this also happens out back? Are there no chrome rear bumpers either? This is quite the departure for GMC.
