Plasti dipping parts on your Truck

Yeah I only did the dash panels, I still need to do the steering wheel and the door panels, and I'm still debating on do the front and back color match like DirtyMarcus, just need to find time to do that.

I was never able to figure out how to remove the air bag so I couldn't tell you for sure. I gave up after 2-3 hours of fighting with it.

Actually, it's not terrible, but you will feel like you are going to break something. You'll get that feeling about 30 times while removing and again when putting back in.

To remove the trim, you pop the buttons off the back of the wheel, undo the main torx screw that keeps you from pulling out the trim, and then you have to wiggle the trim out. Be careful not to yank it out becuase the buttons on the front of the wheel are bolted to the trim, so you don't want to yank out the wires for them. After you have far enough out you'll have to undo the clip holding the wires to the buttons. Once that's undone, your trim and buttons will be free from the wheel. Just undo the 3 torx screws holding the buttons to each trim piece and then you'll have 2 trim pieces ready for paint

 

To reinstall, do the opposite. I'd say pull the fuse for the airbag first and wait at least 15-20 mins before you start any of this. Even though your not messing with the air bag you are extremely close to it and having that thing go off in your face is a very good way to ruin your day.

Not one bit, it's basically a stronger version of orange citrus cleaner. I sprayed two light coats, sprayed off the dip. Then there were some streaks and residue left so I sprayed it again and power washed and everything was gone. Just had a couple little specs stuck in corners and what not. Also used it on the paint without issue too. Did a great job removing over spray from the dip.

The dip matches pretty well in the picture. How does in match in person? Once I get these tow mirrors I want to paint match them and tint out the orange leds.

They match really well in person. It also depends slightly on how the light is hitting it since it's all about how the pearl reflects the light.
