6.0L question

So, I noticed while driving around yesterday in my new 2015 Sierra HD with the 6.0L that I didn't see the icon for the V4/V8 mode. Is this engine not equipped with this function?

Not going to lie to you, I'm relived to hear that. I had a '07 NBS vortec max with the 6.0L and it had some real issues that stemmed from the AFM. (read...it grenaded twice)

Doesn't have that and your MPG will confirm it, that's okay with me.

Thanks to all you guys who answered, you have removed the one and only concern i had with the truck

Maybe you will get lucky on the MPG also. My 2013 1500 5.3L with AFM averaged 14 mpg on the DIC for all the miles I owned it since new. My 2015 2500HD shows lifetime average so far of 13 mpg. Got almost 16 mpg average on a recent road trip. I know I sure like the 6.0 over the 5.3. But then, I like this 2500 far and away more than I ever cared for my 2013 1500.

AFM equals junk valve springs, enjoy that proven/tough gas hog 6.0!

I think you mean junk lifters that have springs...6.0 and the Gen 4 5.3 share valve springs so no difference with those.

New truck trip today, 13.5mpg was worst fuel average and best was 15.5 mpg average on 2015 GMC Sierra CC Z71, CC, 6.0 engine.

Thank you
