Has there been any updates to the Intellink on the 2014 models. A buddy of mine bought a 2014 Sierra and the screen looks different on the radio. Has anyone else seen this or have any info?

Yes - Major update just recently release that applies to ALL of the 1500's. Buddy just sent his '14 Silverado in, my '15 Sierra will be going in in the coming weeks.

I gave my dealer a list of issues that I had with my head unit. He found the update and said that it had a whole list of things it addressed, most of my list being on their list.

 

I was on a call when the BT disconnected and the whole head unit seemed to go "dead". It loaded the maps back up in a few minutes, but BT didn't come back for about 6 hours. The unit has "restarted" itself while running a couple of times, BT kicked itself off again a second time, general poor / slow responsiveness when all of this was going on.

 

I have to make an appointment for mine to go in - hoping to line it up with the headlight replacement / reprogramming as soon as the bulbs area available in my region.

is there a tsb or anything, I my denali was built in january did it come out after that?

It was released in the last couple of weeks. I'm sure there's a specific TSB for it.

 

Tell the dealer you're having general slowness, slow startup times, and taking too long at startup to load the rear camera when switching into reverse. Ask them what software updates there are and see what they say.

My dealer said the Intellilink cannot be updated. I need to find out for sure.

Either your dealer is an idiot, or they didn't understand the question. The IntelliLink can't be updated to add certain features and such, but there are absolutely software patches that are released for it and THAT constitutes an update.

I just had mine in last week and asked if there were any updates for the radio and they said no. Any more info on this? The truck goes back tomorrow to fix the ding they put in my fender while they had it

• When shifting from Drive to Reverse is less than 3 seconds, the display will not transition to the rear view camera screen.

Recommendation/Instructions

Before updating software, check the tuner build version. The “Audio Soft Version” label should be 000474 or lower. If version 000477 is already installed, DO NOT reprogram. Software corruption can occur. Check the software version by:

Note: IO3/RAO−UA3 radios may take 2 + hours to complete programming. Due to the length in programming, a wired internet connection is preferred.

 

Important: When programming IO3 radios, measures must be taken to NOT to let the tech’s TIS2WEB computer go to sleep during programming.

Note: “Tuner” may not always show when checking the software version. This may need to be repeated more than once for tuner selection to be available.

An updated software calibration has been released to address these conditions.

Important: Verify the battery voltage is more than 12 volts but less than 16 volts before proceeding with reprogramming. The battery must be fully charged BEFORE reprogramming.

Important: During reprogramming, the battery voltage must be maintained within the proper range of 12-15.5 volts. CONNECT the approved Midtronics® PSC 550 Battery Maintainer (SPS Programming Support Tool (EL-49642) to the vehicle or the GR8 (EL50313) in the power supply mode.

Update the radio using the Service Programming System (SPS) with the latest calibrations available on TIS2WEB. Refer to the SPS procedures in SI.

Important: The vehicle modules MUST go to sleep for 5 minutes after programming the radio. If not, the vehicle may not have sound, blank screen, no touch response or the wrong splash screen may appear on the screen. If this happens, shut off vehicle and wait the required 5 minutes before starting vehicle again.

My Audio Soft Version is 000478 I have not taken my truck to the dealership since Nov. 2014. I have had issues with the dealership I purchased my truck from in the past. The only way I could get them to do the updates was take them the PI# and in one instance I had to get GM involved to get them to do the update.
