Truck bed off center

Sorry to dig up an old post. I just noticed my bed is off centered about 1/2" too.

I had some body work done over the summer and they actually had the entire bed off the truck. Idk how I never noticed it until now.

But the truck is covered in salt from the roads, and I can see the corner of the bed that sticks out is covered in salt, and the other corner isnt.

How many bolts hold the bed on? can I just loosen them and align the bed myself? Hate going to the dealer things like this.

There are plastic pins that stick up from the frame to align the bed. You can loosen up the bolts but the pins don't slide. You would have to lift the bed and either remove or shape the pins differently. There are 8 bolts on the standard bed.

this has been a problem with gm trucks for the last 3 body styles. if you really want to be frustrated, look at how your truck leans to the left on the drivers side. just another gm truck trait.

so has anyone gotten this fixed by the dealership recently? I have been living with mine but i want to get aftermarket wheels and im worried the poke is going to look weird in the rear if the alignment isnt correct.

I finally created an account just to comment on this! I just bought a 2017 1500 Club Cab, got it home and realized that the whole box was sitting about 1/2 inch toward the driver's side. I loosened the bolts and then found those plastic dowels holding it out of place. I removed them and was almost able to get it centered, but a couple of the bolts had no more room to move over toward the passenger's side. I got it pretty close, within a few mm, so I decided to leave it like that rather than bother to ream out the holes for now.

I have to say though, it was WAY off.. sticking out past the cab on the driver's side, and well inside the cab on the passenger's side. It was also tight to the bumper at the back driver's side. Pretty disappointing to see this on a $50k+ new truck!!! I should have made my dealer do it, but it's more pain to take it in than do it myself.
