Hi, im not sure if this is the right place to post. Im just asking for some input about selling my truck.

I have a Black 2014 Silverado Crew cab with the 5.3, LT Z71, Cloth heated seats, front buckets seats, 8" touch screen with navigation and Bose speakers, trailer break controller, added N-FAB step ups, has a chevy soft tonneu cover. The truck has 18,000 miles.

My question is what is a good price to try to sell it? Any advise is appreciated. Thank you.

When i went to purchase a new vehicle it was between this truck and a Audi S4, I thought i would use the truck more and need the bed and need everything that having a truck benefits from. After having it for about 14 months, i realized i have used the bed like twice for myself and multiple times for friends and family, it is a really nice truck coming from a 2004 GTO, i miss the get up and go and would like to go the other route. I like the way the Audi feels and drives. Thanks for your help.

Gotcha....yeah I have seen a few poeple that buy trucks for the sake of having a truck but not really 'needing' a truck. After a while they realize its not practical or they just miss a smaller vehicle. Good luck to you!! Realize that $36k is going to be on the high end and should be a good starting point. With summer right around the corner you may find the right buyer willing to pay that!

I just traded in my 2012 Audi S4 to buy my truck...The Audi is fun but I do not regret my decision. GLWS......

Kbb.com and Nada are good to reference by. You might try Craigslist to see what other trucks in your area are selling for.

I was sort of in the same boat - owned a bolted '04 GTO like you, then an '08 G8 GT bolted that was a great car put 130,000 miles on it and traded it on the '14 GMC SLT AT - now, I would miss the performance of the other 2 cars if it weren't for the fact I also picked up a pristine '03 Z06 vette - now I REALLY enjoy the truck and drive/use/abuse it like one. Being in the Northeast after this winter the truck was definitely useful.

If I were you I would also look at the following: if you can find a '13 or '14 Acura TL SH-AWD w/ 6 speed manual (like a unicorn but they still exist and if new are steeply discounted if you want a GREAT manual tranny and rock solid reliability), I would also look at Subaru STi/WRX (better performance/handling than S4 IMO but sacrifice some luxury/fit/finish obviously) - I trust subaru reliability/longevity over Audi, then there's also the BMW AWD 3 series

BTW - funny, but I too nearly pulled the trigger on an S4, but got cold feet due to weariness over repair costs and reliability, then looked hard at the TL AWD and probably would have gotten it but turns out my company gave me car allowance/gas card - covers the truck. The Z06 satisfies my need for speed/performance and then some.

You can check out the KBB.com site and all the others, but when it comes down to it, you have to compete with the dealers selling similar trucks that are new and the same as yours. Drive by some dealers and see what your new equipped truck will actually sell for. I'm guessing you will have to take a 15-20% hit from a new actual price. Your truck sounds like it stickered around low $40k ? Probably paid less. Low $30s would be my guess after searching around the net.

Why would you add 5k on to it for the options? For the discounts people are getting new he will price him out of anyone that is interested.

Personal experience has shown that KBB is usually 3-5k under value for selling outright. This puts the OP at the high end with room to negotiate down. If he starts at the suggested KBB value of 32k there is no room to work with. Most people are going to negotiate for the best deal and then He may have just priced himself out of profit money....JMO of course

Spend $200 for a detailing. Advertise it for $32,995. Accept less.

Carmax is a horrible place to sell a vehicle. Go to a Chevy dealer and get a quote from them.
