Got a 2015 DC, LT, Z71 Loaner for the day....thoughts

The Rancho shocks on my personal 2014 truck at 15,000 miles are definitely shot, confirming they're the garbage I thought they were. I need Bilsteins ASAP.

Also, there was a thread on this forum about a beta test software/tune that cleans up the transmission shifting and makes the truck feel more responsive. I don't think we ever found out one way or the other whether that was true or not. But I can definitely say that this 2015 feels 10x more powerful and responsive than my 2014 and it's the same engine and transmission.

Where is everyone getting the Blistiens? I want to order a set as well, mainly because of the reviews on them and then to get the front leveled.

I bought them for my 2007 from TireRack.com. They were amazing to say the least. The shocks that is. Tirerack was great to deal with as well.

Tirerack has the 5100's available but not the 4600's. I want the yellow 4600's as I plan to keep my truck stock height with stock wheels/tires.

I need to do some more reading on these.

So the 5100 is adjustable up front, so you can level the truck. It's a direct OE replacement though, correct?

Is the 4600 non adjustable, and direct OE replacement?

The 5100 basically lets you level your front end by using that shock instead of a leveling kit. The rear is adjustable as well in case you have a lift kit for the rear but I'll be honest I don't know much about leveling or lifting trucks. Others on here that have these should chime in please.

Yes the 4600's are non adjustable and are designed to be used as a direct replacement for stock shocks. These are what I installed on my 2007.

Good info, thanks. Glad to know there is 2 options. I haven't decided fully yet, and at this point since I have the stock tire size, i don't see a need for it. When I am due to get tires, I'll revisit this option.

Got my Bilstein 5100s from Allshocks.com. Great to work with. You do not have to level or lift the truck with 5100s - I did not level my truck. The 4600s were not available and it was explained to me that the only difference is that the front 5100s are adjustable. Installed them at the stock ride height setting. Back 5100s are not adjustable, although they work with "lifted" trucks. And they were the same price as 4600s. Truck now rides great - the Bilsteins stopped the terrible bouncing.

Damn, you're gonna make me get these before I actually need them!

Do you happen to have a specific part number for them?

24-238304 front

33-238319 rear

$385.80 delivered. Free shipping, no tax..

Thank you Sir!

I'm guessing DC and CC probably have the same part numbers for the shocks, but I'll look them up.

Don't know...but I think so.

You are most welcome.

I remember driving a 2015 a few months ago while my truck was having service done. It had the ranchos and they rode 100x better than my truck. It was night and day. Ended up installing bilsteins and its definitely better. But I would still say that 2015 rode nicer.

Couldn't say the 2015 felt any more powerful though. But thats probably because my 2014 has a Blackbear tune.

Autoanything is out of stock until July on the front 5100s. They have the rears in stock.

But, you can get the 4600 for $326 shipped for all 4.

Funny how the supply and prices change...
