Getting cut on a new truck

Just reached into the lower pocket of the center console (the one accessible from the back seat ) from the driver seat upon grabbing the item and attempting to take my hand out of said pocket the plastic trim cut my wrist wide open .... Am I alone ?

Take a pic of the piece thats inside that can cut you and post it. It could be a good warning for members or gm to recall a problem. Thanx

Much of the plastic trim in mine still had flashing or edges that were sharp. For example, the black part of the interior door handle where it meets the chrome trim was really sharp on one of my doors. I just took some 220grit sandpaper to it and other edges I've found to round them up a bit more. You know, the type of cleanup stuff one expects to have happen at the factory.

Agreed with countermeasure...a lot of edges that just aren't cleaned up coming out of the plastic mold. I just take a file in the ol' leatherman and round them off.

I found the spot you were talking about tho. Its edge all around the pocket on the back side of the center console. It is definitely sharp, I just hadn't cut myself on it. But I can see how it would cut someone.

Interesting that nobody from "GM customer pretend that we care" has chimed in yet. This looks like a safety issue to me.

I was doing some work on a new audio install in the back and skimmed my left elbow on this area when propping myself up from floorboard. It definitely took off a thin layer of skin, enough to create a scab weeks later.

You can get a nasty cut from a peeling chromed plastic door release handle for example. I remember something about that a while ago.

I felt mine today and took a piece of 80 grit to it. I had to fix mine before my son cuts himself. It was sharp but not as sharp as yours. Thanks for the heads up
