undercoating help

So im already having some very minor surface rust start popping up from the lovely winter we had. Before i start hitting the beach for the summer i want to recoat everything possible underneath. My plan was to roll/brush on bed liner (avoiding any bolts for future work). My question is:

Should i try to strip the waxy factory coating first?

or will the bed liner harden up over the top and end the peelability (is that a word?)

Take it to the dealer they will repair it free. I stripped my 2002, painted it....it rotted out. Had my 2014 re done by dealer 6 months ago still looks good,

Odds are you'll make the situation worse if you just apply bedliner over it. Any spots you miss or leave uncovered intentionally will only serve as paths for moisture and salt to seep behind the coating. The corrosion will spread under the coating, looking okay on the exterior but rotten underneath. Either find a better wax to apply to the frame, keep the frame oiled with something like Fluid Film, or go the route of something like POR 15.
