Searching for a 6.2L

Four days straight at the chevy dealer has so far yeilded nothing but dead ends and false information. I finally went and did all the research myself to find out how to get a 6.2L with Max tow package. One last shot for these guys and I am insisting on just ordering it instead of letting them try to find me one. They are usually a great dealership to deal with so I dont want to bash them, but it seems like they didnt get a lot of information about the 6.2L and 8-speed automatic. Sales manager that I have known for 7 years now was embarrased and tried to find the info but over this weekend has been tough. I am going to stick withit this time though. When I bought in 2011 i finally settled for the 5.3 and that wont happen again.

If anyone out there has the 6.2L with Max towing package(NHT) I would love to hear some feedback and how you are likeing it.

Thanks

I just got mine last week. Waited almost 12 weeks after I ordered it. Love it!!! I had a 2013 LTZ plus with 6.2 and max tow also and this new 15' has a noticeable power difference over my 13' and that one was tuned by Black Bear! The dealer I got mine from has a black LTZ crew cab 6.2 with max tow on their lot right now.

Barcia, what are they asking and where is the dealership?

Not sure on the price. Sticker was $54,320. It is at Billion Southtown by Sioux Falls S.D.

You can contact Travis @ 606-366-5346 I have bought a couple trucks from him already. Great guy to deal with.

Thanks I will look into it. If someone doesn't beat me to it.

there's a 6/2L with max tow package at Classic GMC Buick in Carrolton TX still available as of yesterday - about 55k MSRP

FYI do NOT buy one that was built prior to Jan. 2015...... They are having problems with the 8 speed transmissions! Anything built after that has been changed and works just fine.

I ordered mine, took about 8 long weeks to get in.. But well worth the wait. So, this is the best truck I ever owned. The 6.2l is very responsive, will get you to 98 mph in no time and if you're able to keep the led foot off the pedal, the gpm is extremely impressive. The ride is very smooth, quiet, with a sense of a luxury feel... Just a few minor things that I wished GM would have put a little more thought in like: sunglasses holder, their voice command us almost useless and the driver alert vibrate in the seat can be a little painful on a long trip.

I have not had a chance to pull anything, but I feel this truck will out perform the other brands.

Good luck. Once you get one, I highly doubt you will regret it..

There were NO max tow 6.2's built before Jan anyway.

Thanks ConnRadd. Great looking truck. I do not want the driver alert package. I suspected it would get annyiong after a while and didnt want to deal with it. I am sure the 6.2L will be a great new upgrade from the 5.3L I am driving now.

I am hitting up the dealership again today after work to find out if they found on for me. I did mention the ones you guys found in SD, TX and PA. Funny thing I did haggle with my GMC dealership about that one in PA. They werent willing to drop from 54k here but in PA they internet listed at 50k. They said it was due to how hard it was to transfer between dealerships and how most dealerships didnt want to part with their 6.2s at cost.

barcia51 I did hear about the 8speed problems. It seems like those have been fixed, along with the vibration issues. Have my fingers crossed that I dont get stuck with dealing with one of those issues.

If you are worried about the driver alert getting annoying, don't. You can turn it off easily with the flip of the switch. I have it on mine and like it. Others have said it can be uncomfortable but I went on a trip (10 hr drive each way) and never had any comfort issues with it.

Thanks P-Funk that is good to know. I did not know that you could turn it off that easily. At least it doesn't need to be a deal breaker if I find everything else I am looking for.
