Yes and No. It depends on what your trying to accomplish. It helps keep road noise out and sound in. To stop resonance adding weight helps, that's why this stuff is so heavy, and the material helps reflect and absorb.

Relocated Factory Electronics on back wall in order to make room for a new rack to go in for processor (DSP) and power distribution. My new Rivet-Nut kit is awesome and makes it pretty easy to relocate the bolts needed to mount stuff.

Closer picture of electronics relocated. Still need to wrap all the expired wiring with TESA Tape and it will look factory I do believe.

Custom Grills for Illusion Audio Midrange Drivers

Create MDF Pressing Mold and Pressing rings resembling desired mesh form factor
A_Pillar_150918_4.jpg

A_Pillar_150918_5.jpg

Obtain a donor set of grills with desired mesh pattern. In my case the pattern needs to match my Illusion Audio Tweeters. In this case spare Focal grills were used.

A_Pillar_150918_6.jpg

Cut out mesh from donor grills, press completely flat, and center on pressure mold.

Press mesh onto form factor

It's important for me to convey that Kyle's work has an extremely high tolerance level. In other words, the measurements for eveything are so close and accurate that many of his products simply pressure fit together. In the case of my A_Pillars, NO Glue, Screws, or Fasteners of any kind are used to hold the grill and rings in. They pressure fit on and actually take quite a bit of effort to get them off.

All thats remaining to finish the A_Pillars is some painting to color match the custom midrange grills to the Illusion Audio grills.

Saw that good looking truck of yours today and have to give credit, that's a beautiful truck. Made me feel a little bad with mine being so dirty.

Thanks!

I thought that was you, I waved anyways. Went to a metal fab shop to pick up some brackets I had made, and drop plans off for some other stuff to get finished and powder coated.

If you feel bad because your truck was dirty, then your really gonna feel bad when I tell you mine was dirty!!! Hadn't touched it in about a month!!!!
