any Ak guys here?

I picked up a maadi a couple weeks ago for a screaming deal. bought some new furniture for it since it had a thumbhole butt stock ( not a fan, but am keeping it with the gun so it's still original if I ever sell it) gun shoots like a dream zero problems so far, but only a few boxes through it.

Very good rifle. I've had a bunch and still have a few. Never a Maadi though. The ones I've seen seemed like better built AK's than most.

The Maadi is an Egyptian AK. They are an OK rifle depending on where they were actually assembled and what type of parts were used.

They are pretty much a hit or miss rifle function and dependability wise but it sounds like you got one that works. They can also be had from $300-$400 depending on parts quality used for the build.
