wanting more aggressive tire for HD

I have,a 2013 sierra 2500hd with factory 20" wheels wanting to get rid of the good year sra. Any suggestions? I'm leaning to the bfg ko2 in 275/60r20. The factory size is 265/60r20. The only thing bad is the bfg are only load range D and my local belle and discount tire won't even put them on for me. I need load range e they say.

That may be a "CYA" policy they have at their store.

If the D-range tires are not equipped to handle the full load of your HD, it makes sense for them to not want to go ahead and just slap any tires on a pickup. Good for them for not being careless....Now if trailer dealers would stop selling giant trailers that are too heavy for the pickup they are towed off the lot with, the highway would be a lot safer.

Have you looked at any Cooper tires? I have been running Discoverer AT3's with the "E" load rating on my V-Max and they have been great. They also come with a 50,000 mile warranty.

Ya I've looked at the at3. I just love the look of the bfg. I've been wondering about the cooper atp they might look a little more aggressive than the at3.

I have the ATP's on my half ton, they're a good tire. I've had an issue with them cupping but I believe it was from running too low psi over the winter and fighting side winds; my alignment is dead on. I increased the PSI and the issue seems to be correcting itself. The snow performance impressed me, they seem to stop really well on ice/snow. I did Berthoud pass in 2wd with about 6" of snow and they barely slipped.

It seems like the Cooper ST Maxx and Goodyear Duratracs are really popular on the HD's. I would not hesitate to get AT3's though, I've been hearing great things about them as well, they may even be my next set. I won't run anything less than a 10 ply on my half ton, let alone on an HD.

I just got BFG AT KO2's on my 2500HD. 285-75-16. I've always had load range D on them since 2003. I get home today from Costco where I bought the tires and was shocked when I looked at them.......

Load range of E and a max load rating if 3750!

I liked the A/T3's I put on our '10-1500. Great winter traction, no issues in rain, etc.

And the fact they have a mileage warranty just tops it off!

A buddy has a set of the Toyo Open Country ATII (I think it is). He likes them a lot! I know someone else with them as well on a '13 2500HD and he can't say enough good things about them! He has the 295/55/20's (will need to verify the sidewall, it is the 295's though) with the t-bars cranked just a couple turns.

Good luck and let us know what you go with and what size.
