Lift Blocks vs AAL vs Air Springs

I have my 2014 CCSB SIerra leveled on bilstein 5100 shocks. I recently added a Cap as well as a roof rack and now it is sitting mighty close to cali lean territory. What do you recommend for a guy who tows a boat a hand full of times a year? Sounds like AAL gets mixed reviews as to whether it stiffens it up too much. Blocks, don't really help with the load, and air springs are another thing to fiddle with. What say you? I did see the Air Lift smart system that levels the rear like my old expoedition, but I wasn't sure how reliable that was. I am looking for around 2" of lift in the back.

Lift blocks will add more axle wrap, they won't help with towing. If anything the extra axle wrap will be worse.

 

AAL will give you lift and slightly increase payload/stability with a minor impact on ride comfort. I had an AAL on a previous truck, but I hardly ever towed anything with it.

 

Air springs will definitely help more with payload/stability and help keep ride comfort. But is gonna cost more.

 

AAL will probably be the most easy to maintain. Since you basically install it and leave it. The air springs will add some more maintenance items and will probably be a lot more to install and fix if they break.

You could also try the Roadmaster Active Suspension.. I don't know how much of a lift it would provide, maybe an inch, but it would help a lot with keeping that height when weight gets added, without stiffening your ride much. Also, you can adjust it so that it provides more or less assistance to the rear leaves, and it helps eliminate axle wrap. They run around $350 and are a quick install and require no maintenance either. I am considering getting a set even though I almost never tow or haul anything haha
