have the opportunity to buy one of these for 250 bucks, my question is is it worth it? I want to handheld for now because my truck is still under warranty and in case I take it in to the dealer I can restore it.

Or should I spend the extra hundred bucks and buy a diablo sport?

Total waste of money for performance aspect. Also, dealer can still tell it's been tampered even if you remove it. I know from experience on my 14.

No noticeable power increase, no mpg increase, and dealer new it had been messed with. Tech told me he knew it had modification such as a tuner once he scanned it. Honestly, the only reason I bought it was for tire size adjustment. I bought it used from a good friend for $125. IF you going to tune, do it right and do Blackbear the first time.

Your personal opinion about tuning is fine, works or doesn't, your experience and you expounded on that.

People that tune the 14+ want to hear your experience of the dealer recognizing the tune, ect.

VERY few legit cases of such, we want to hear, or know since it's such the anomaly.

I've since traded the truck, but was warned of possibility warranty COULD be denied. It's wasn't worth chancing so I will not do any tuning to my new truck. They were cool about it, but it's my local dealer. They stated that if something went wrong away from home, another dealer might not overlook the situation. End point is they CAN tell if you add and remove a tuner. For me, it's not worth the possibility

That's just it, I was told they can't tell specifics. I was told the number "4" in my case. My truck had 4 different abnormalities. They way it was explained to me is it keeps count each time it's tampered with. So, I'm just saying make sure your dealer is understanding. For me, the warranty is worth far more than a little performance improvement. Blackbear is the way to go if you want max performance. Every dealer is different and some choose to overlook, while others can be stubborn.

The computer keeps track like sated above by a counter, it knows how many times not what was changed. When they look up the Vin they know how many changes it should have ONLY once that number is different they know.

My local dealer suggested I go buy a Edge Progammer to fix my speedometer. Saying that shows they could care less. Guy told me they have to buy them for the Lifted trucks they sell anyways. So I guess it must just be a dealer choice on whether or not to be a jerk about warranty work.
