GarciaLTZ Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Anyone have pics after removing the front license plate bracket? If I remove them how big of a hole will it leave in my bumper?
tnchevy Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Not sure of the hole size since I live in a no front tag state but if it is pretty bad then you can order a replacement center section of the bumper. GM calls is a "skid plate" for some wierd reason.
GarciaLTZ Posted August 8, 2015 Author Posted August 8, 2015 Ya I'm gonna take it off next week when I go home. Hopefully it isn't too much of an eye sore.
GA1500WT Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Maybe this helps. This is the hardware from a kit not installed.
GarciaLTZ Posted August 10, 2015 Author Posted August 10, 2015 Thanks. Hopefully it's not too much of a eye sore.

loadies Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 (edited) Anyone have pics after removing the front license plate bracket? If I remove them how big of a hole will it leave in my bumper? There is some sticky tape holding the top and two rivets you'll need to drill out at the bottom. The remaining holes are just under 1/4 in. Edited August 14, 2015 by loadies
chuckl1218 Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 These might help,plug the remaining holes...http://www.bumperplugs.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=1_11_79&product_id=79
GarciaLTZ Posted August 16, 2015 Author Posted August 16, 2015 (edited) Loadies, did you remove your front plate or did your truck come like that? If so, did it leave any scratches or scuffs? Edited August 16, 2015 by GarciaLTZ
jroyston13 Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 (edited) Not a close pic, but if you zoom in you can see the two holes. I removed mine a little over a month after getting the truck. Your left behind with some lines of dirt that just wipe away. Looks like it was never there. Edited August 17, 2015 by jroyston13
loadies Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Loadies, did you remove your front plate or did your truck come like that? If so, did it leave any scratches or scuffs?I did it. No marks at all short of the two small holes. Did it as soon as I got the truck home.
mfbearded Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 so i just attempted to take off the bracket...and wasnt really sure how...which i admit with some embarrassment and laughter considering i leveled the truck and installed the exhaust myself. it seems this pins or whatever the hell they used does not unscrew ?
CptMcSaug Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 They are rivets and have to be drilled out. I did it to my friends truck took a whole 10 min, 5 of which was getting the drill haha.
Muley Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 (edited) Just removed the front license plate bracket from my new 2016 1500 LS. Three small, barely noticeable holes remain, two on top and one on the bottom. Much better. Edited January 14, 2017 by Muley
batman900 Posted February 17, 2019 Posted February 17, 2019 Sorry to revive this but does anyone know the bit size to drill these rivets out? And do I just drill straight into the center of the rivet? Thanks
