My 05 2500HD (6.0 with 192,xxx) just randomly starting telling me to service my brake system and the park brake and abs like comes on. It sometimes goes away quickly other times it'll stay on till I shut the truck off. I checked my fluid and it's at max. My brake pads look good and it brakes fine even when the lights come on. What should I look at next? Also sometimes my tranny shifts a little odd into the higher gears I checked my fluid and it's a little high. My tranny doesn't have a drain plug so how do I get fluid out? Thanks for the help in advance I'm heading off to college this weekend and this is my ride every weekend back home, about a 2 1/2 hour drive.

Oh and when I first start it up after sitting a while I usually back up out of my driveway and when I go to give it has it kind of hesitates or something like that, I wouldn't go as far as its misfiring but could this be my MAF being dirty or what?

Sounds like it might be a grounding issue. Check the single wire coming out of the wiring harness at the passenger side rear of engine. That wire runs down to the back of the engine block and attaches with a small bolt. Check condition of wire and connection at the block.

Wheel bearings have any play in them? Could have a defective abs sensor, or if the hubs are worn the abs light could be set. Or like searay said, could be a ground issue.

I've also heard that the ABS module has ground issues as well. I believe it is mounted on the drivers side frame rail.
