LT load rated tires

I have already decided on my 18 inch tires. Not changing wheels. Just disappointed with the choices available. They make 265/65, 275/65, and 265/70 in standard load rates. Why not 285/65 or 275/70? That is all i am saying/asking. Just looking for info as to why the limited sizes if anyone knew. Not a debate of Lt vs p or what i should use.

The reason is those sizes do not come on half tons from the factory. They usually come on 3/4 and 1 tons. 18's seen to be a slightly obscure size, but it seems like more are on HD's.

Probably for the simple fact is not size that is in big demand so they don't see any profitably in producing a low volume size.

I have towed a 6K lb trailer for the last 10 yrs with a 1/2 ton wearing P rated tires. Never a flat tire or blowout. I just replaced the Good for a Year SRA's with Cooper Discover AT3, same size 265/65x18. Even with going with just a more aggressive tire. my fuel mileage has dropped several mpg's, but that's the price you pay for better traction on wet grass or mud while trying not to get stuck maneuvering a 6K lb trailer.
