Frame question?

Did they change the frame prep? Was getting oil changed and looking at new 15's they were shiny black and smooth, my 14 is flat black and kinda that tacky wax stuff

The ones you were looking at were they crew cabs? Some Flint crew cabs do have a different (not sure if its paint) finish to the frames.

AFAIK, they still build all full size pickup frames at one supplier facility.

I read somewhere that they are shipped bare but I am positive I have seen the frames being shipped coated as well as pictures of them at the factory coated plus the Fort Wayne plant is known for crappy paint and frame coating.

I've been under my '15 Sierra crew a lot this past week. And it's definitely covered in the black gooey wax crap. Still trying to get it out from under my finger nails. [emoji1]

It's not sprayed on, they are dipped.
