New headlights for 2016 HD?

Received a reply today from a Ms. Kelly Wysocki at GMC and she stated that, despite the conflicting information between the press release and the order code guide, the 2016 HD's will have HID headlamps. Guess they're recognizing the current GMC HD owner's complaints about the light output of the halogen projectors until the 2017s come out, presumably with LEDs?? I may order a 2016 as i'm not towing anything that would require +900lb ft of torque.

I wonder if a retrofit would be affordable for my 2015?

Darn good question; bet a lot of recent HD owners will be wondering same thing. You'd hope that GMC has anticipated that.

You mean anticipated like they did with the updated mirrors...I wouldn't hold your breath on that.

I doubt it. GM wants you to buy a whole new truck.

, I just put the new 2016 sierra 1500 headlights and taillights on my 16 Denali HD. They look sweet. If anyone is interested in how to wire them to make all the options work just shoot me an email [email protected]. I'll post pics soon but it was pretty simple. Every thing fits like factory but you do have to wire the new headlight harness to get them to work. The taillights are plug and play.
