I have a 2014 GMC Sierra. I would like to install aftermarket stereo and keep the stock head unit and controls. Where do I start. Signal processor or something like that? I used to years ago install stereos and speakers amps and everything in all my cars and friends cars. The new cars are all integrated with the car and the stereos so I would like to keep all of that in this vehicle. We never got into signal processors years ago but installed amps and aftermarket head units and speakers in everything. Any info on where to start or what to start with.?

I think the only way would to use high level inputs from your speakers into an amp, then replace all your speakers with better component speakers.

I plan to do the same and keep the factory unit. I'm thinking about getting a powered sub and replacing my door speakers and adding a small separate amp for it. Unless someone can chime in and tell me I don't need a separate amp for the door speakers.

Audio Control makes a good interface that will you allow you to add any processing units you like behind the factory audio units. Look at the LC8i or the DQ-61. The DQ-61 is a very nice unit. It allows time alignment, EQ processing and a host of other features.

Audison also makes a nice interface, the bit-One, which will accomplish the same end result. its a bit pricey though.

If you have BOSE.... all you need to do is add a 10in sub ....leave everything else alone. I guarantee you will happy.

If you don't have the BOSE... replace the front speakers and add Sub...
