I think it'll sell.

There is a new generation out there. The "fast and furious" generation.

Small, boosted engines are the way to go nowadays.

Wait until Ford can cut a deal with Honda and puts a VTEC in the trucks. The sale numbers will go sky high...lol.

You are correct that small boosted engines do cater to that crowd in small light cars but thats not gonna cut it with a huge heavy truck & with the guys who drive em

One guy in the comments: "I couldn't tow my travel trailer with the old Raptor looking at the specs."

Uh...duh...that is a guy who buys for looks first then function and gets caught with his pants down realizing the truck he bought can't do the job.

I don't know what that person's issue was, maybe operator error?

I have been towing my 10,000 lb toy hauler for fifteen thousand miles now with my 13 raptor, does fantastic, smoothest towing vehicle I've ever driven, I sold my Hd sierra Denali for the raptor. The raptor tows like a beast, not to mention makes you're Silverado look like grandpa's Buick in the dirt. 181f1103e321635b7651f0c4d593559a.jpg

You're no less than 2000 pounds over your towing capacity, whether the pickup likes it or not.

I'm not going to go to the plate for someone who joins the board just to troll. If you're looking for a place to talk about how awesome your mid travel suspension is, we'll listen better if you don't come in guns blazing.

I'm sure the next gen Raptor will be an awesome truck. The current/outgoing one is too.

I just wish Ford would have the 6.2L as an option. Boosted engines are fun to drive though, I've had several. I'm not so sure about the 10speed tranny though........

The back end is compressed and the front is drooping way down. That truck is overloaded. Way overloaded. Doesn't matter how it pulls. That's dangerous as hell.

I'm not coming in here to talk about how awesome the truck is in the dirt, only to spread the truth that the truck tows just as good as any other full size, In my opinion allot smoother as well.

Too big?

Loved the truck, it was over 100k miles, the transmission was starting to slip and the dual climate air was acting up, great truck. Not as smooth driving or towing but nice.

Actually a very deceiving picture of how it sits, those are 38.6 inch tires, they had no chance of fitting with the stock fenders so those are 2" wider and 2" taller aftermarket glass fenders, the rear is stock just modified inside to fit those tires under full compression. The truck and trailer sit very level. And as for the weight, I'm only at 10k when the xp1000 is in the rear, I'm usually under 8k, it's funny when I'm at 10k the rear of the toy hauler sits down an inch or so relieving weight of the tongue.

Listen I have a family to worry about, I would never risk their safety, honestly the truck tows so good you forget theirs a trailer back there

You're exceeding the rated tow capacity by quite a bit. You put your family and everyone else on the road at risk when you tow like that.

The persons issue was not at all operator error. The problem is the Raptor, no matter how cool it looks has lower towing and overall weight capicities.

Your truck can tow that heavy trailer BUT you are over the legal and safe weoght limitations of your truck.

You got rid of a perfectly fine truck that was equipped to tow and haul that weight for a truck that looks cool but really can't be used as a truck. Not only is it unsafe, but it looks really silly with your super soft desert racing suspension having that weight on it as your front end points toward the sky. Hopefully you don't kill anybody on your travels with all that weight. On top of that, you dangerously altered the trucks handling with that over weight trailer.

Some people just don't get it, or they just don't care about others around them.

Don't get me wrong, I am actually a huge Raptor fan. I wanted one of those trucks since Ford introduced them but I just can't do it because of the limited capacities. The Raptor would be a nice truck to drive around and blow through the desert but when it comes time to work and not play, it falls short.
