What shocks for rear of lowered truck

I just got my 2015 rcsb 4x4 lowered 3/6. I used the McGaughy kit and it turned out great. But the rear bounces around like crazy...never had a lowered truck ride this poor. I have seen some guys are using Belltech shock. What part number are you using? Any other ideas would be great too.

Check the last few pages of the pinned topic for lowering here in the modifications forum. There is also some info in that topic that you will want to read for lowering a Denali so you don't have issues with ride control. A lot of info the sift through but you will be better off and make more informed decisions if you do.

I am kind of new to this but I don't believe that the 14 model has ride control, I could be wrong tho... I know that the 15 model does, thanks for leading me in the right direction!

No problem, and you're probably right, I just remember glossing over that issue and didn't pay attention. Unfortunately they don't offer a RC Denali, lol!

Definitely waiting on those pics! with a drop like this, how is everyone hauling/ trailering with thier trucks? I want to throw on a set of CK156's 22's and just drop my rear to level it out. worried that if i try and haul a boat/small trailer that the rear will sink beyond the height of the front and look bad...maybe add bags?

Yeah, I will be adding helpers in the near future most likely. I don't tow that often, but it will happen one of these days as I have a '62 Vette that requires a trailer and I am getting rid of the Tahoe.

I leveled the rear and if I haul my 4 wheeler with a full tank of gas u can definitely see the back end drop a bit, it didn't really affect the headlights too bad ( although I may get some one to flash me everyone now and then cuz I run 6k HID). I am still planning on a air bag assist for the heavier loads

Ok so I am going crazy with the ride in my truck and the shop can't get it in till Friday. So today I jacked it up and it was setting on the bump stops before I raised it. I cut the bump stops off as much as I could and reinstalled the tire. Now when I lowered it back down it still seems like it is setting on them but driving it gets a slam noise over every bump. So when I have them instal the new energy suspension ultra low bump stops do they cut out the part hanging from the frame. It looks to me if that stayed on I would be in the same basic position with maybe 1/4" more clearance.

Are you asking if 6" drop is the only option for the back? I have a 3" drop shackle....... Didn't really affect the ride IMO

No I have it set at 6" but 5" was an option just didn't see any extra holes

Yes cut the welded bumpstop bracket off.

As far as I know here are the configurations for drops with a flip:

7" with stock shackles and stock backets

6" with 1" lift shackle and stock brackets (Most kits don't have this shackle)

5" with stock shackle and aftermarket bracket mounted in the highest location

4" with stock shackle and aftermarket bracket mounted in the lowest location

RT can probably correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think you can do 6" without a new shackle.

Here it is bone stock then 3/6 drop. Love the look hate the ride...but I'm working on that part!
