Greetings!!

Long time forum user (just not this one) and long time truck owner (never a GMC or Chevy). I'll be completely honest - always been aToyota fan. I've owned 96 tacoma and currently 07 tacoma. The tacoma is getting older ....and we've got some money in our pockets to buy some new wheels. I've been drooling over the new 2016 tacomas for months ...but I'm really & truly disappointed in the limited options & configurations available. It's ridiculous..... Can't get this....with that...or in that....bla bla bla.

So...I'm here to do a little research since I know nothing about the Colorado or Canyon. Not new to Chevy...We used to own a 2001 Corvette and just sold it about a year ago.

The options & configurations of both the Colorado & Canyon have enticed me...... I know exactly what I want - Access Cab, V6, Auto, Leather, FULLY loaded!!! My husband thinks I should shoot for the Canyon Denali.

I am concerned about reliability...... and a little bit of resale value. Overall size - I don't want a fullsize truck. I think the Canyon is about 4" taller and 4" longer than my tacoma (in same configuration). Which..... it's gotta fit in my garage.

So....it'll probably boil down to some research and a test drive.

Unless of course...you guys/gals can convince me .... I'm one of those 'google' overload type of people!

Sorry so long and Thanks for listening!

Welcome! And i too was looking at a colorado at first, but they DO NOT DEAL on them. Sticker price. Period. (At least around here) thats when i decided to go with a silverado. I ended up getting over 10,000$ in rebates which put the price damn close to a colorado. Plus the silverado i got was nicely equipped too! Leather, backup camera, 5.3 v8, oem running boards, spray in bedliner, 8" mylink, and more. Just food for thought...

I don't doubt you at all...

I'm not in a market for a fullsize. They're too big. I owned a Dodge Ram for 3 years - and it was awesome for towing the trailer/jeep. I hated driving that thing around town and in tight spots and always afraid of door dings & such.

Welcome to the group Jandy, they are starting to discount the Colorado's around here, about 10% off the 2015's. I really like the small trucks and have even been thinking about trading for one. Good Luck!!

Whatever you decide to purchase, be sure to test drive the Canyon/Colorado before buying. Most of us here are GM fans and will speak highly about the GM trucks. Many, like myself, really never owned any other brand of truck. With you coming from Toyota, it's probably going to be a big change. The GM mid-sized trucks are really nice from what I have seen, I would own one for sure if I didn't need the full sized trucks. For what they are, they are great trucks and you should really like them coming from Tacomas.

Be sure to report back with pictures after you decide on a truck. Those 2016 Denali models look really sharp if you can wait for them to be released. They have upgraded/nicer wheels and a nicer interior than the current trucks.
