Anyone running 265/70/r18 on their silverado?

I asked the question yesterday if 275/70/r18 tires fit on a stock Silverado and after hearing feedback they probley will rub a little. So I was wondering if I could fit LT 265/70/r18 BF Goodrich KO2's on a 2015 Silverado at stock right height.

Anyone running these? much clearance?

I am not sure on that size but 275/65/r18 will fit. They are basically 32 by 11.

This is the size I am going with after researching it FOREVER I feel they are the best bang for your buck slightly taller, wider, and don't break the bank. I was looking at the Hanook Dynapro ATM but that's subject to change.

Do you have a Z71 at stock height? I have mine up 1.75" in the front (Leveling Kit); and I am running BFG KO2 275/70r18's. Everything is beautiful as far as clearance. I personally think you would have no potential problems going to a 275/65r18 or 265/70r18. 275/70r18 may be close, but I think you'll probably be fine.

Its a crew cab standard box LT Z71, Acturally the truck sits almost level, and ''if'' I did put in a leveling kit I think the front be higher than the rear. I noticed that the 2wd trucks sits lower in the front and mine is a 4x4, I got 265/65/18 on now and I wants some more tire sidewall height so in that case I have to get 70 as my second number. Its only like 70.00 more dollars from a 265/70/18 to a 275/70/18 .

Also with tire size does it include tire thread? i'm getting an all terrain tire so the threads be 3/4 of a Inch, so if that's not included its less space I got in the wheelwell.

Why would it not include the tire tread? Of course it does...

A 265/70 is taller than the 275/65 yet a little skinnier. Search some of the threads about tire size and you should find your answer.

According to the chevy website the 4x4 sits lower than than the 2wd. Makes sense since there is another 150+ pounds in front drivetrain added. It is less than two tenths of an inch so it won't make a difference on what you can or can't fit.

Lt275 70 18 on 18's. I had them before my level and didn't have any rubbing.

There should be about 1.9" difference in wheel well height from front to back on a stock 4x4 Z71. Mine is just slightly raked. You should be fine; it looks great. BFG all the way. The difference between 265/70 and 275/70 is going to be 2*7mm = 14mm aka 0.55" in diameter. If you are concerned about clearance, go with the 265.

i'm looking at those exact tires in that exact size, 275/70/18 for my CC Z71.

How much MPG did you loose? i'm seeing that the BFG is something like 22lbs heaver per tire. i know i will take somewhat of a hit, but any rough idea how much? i put about 350miles/week on my truck and take road trips in it (1000 mile round trip a few times a year in all weather conditions).

I got them and they rubs a little inside the wheel liners. now I am buying a 1.5 inch leveling kit , makes the truck look way better

Steve,

I do about 3500 miles every month... I lost between 0.8-1.4 around town; probably about 0.5 - 1.0 on the highway; where I fill up makes a difference. Well worth the extra cost.

I've also seen that I almost never get over 18 on my display on the highway and don't see v4 very often. I made a couple other changes as well, but I think the accumulation of effects to my gas milage is worth it. I didn't buy a truck to cry about an extra 5 gallons of gas every month. I bought it to go fishing, hunting, and to make fun of every person who drives a Prius.

yeah, i'm not worried about a little extra gas either. i was just looking to see if i should expect a 1-2mpg drop or a 4-5+mpg drop from that tire in that size, just to assess what to expect.

thanks for the info.....

Its not bad. remember that you'll be ~5.0% - 6.0% off on your speedo, fuel mileage, and odometer. Basically, multiply your displayed mpg by 1.05 to get the true number; and you'll get 5.0% free miles on your odometer since the truck doesn't know the difference between the tires.

As far as the speedo; tyou should fall somewhere between these two charts
