So I am (or was) in the market for a new truck, I like the Silverado and local dealers are offering 11K off of MSRP on select '15 models through the end of the month including dealer discounts and incentives. I know they always have some sort of promotion going on, but are they usually this good? Could I get them down this far with negotiations?

Attached is the offer showing the breakdown of discounts.

My dilemma is that I'd prefer to pay off my motorcycle then buy a truck. I can make the truck payment work as it would be really low with my trade in, but I'd rather put that money towards paying off the bike and killing that payment 1st. Ideally I'd be ready to buy next November, I'm guessing I'd be able to find 4-5k in incentives then, but 11k? I'm guessing the discounts are due to the new front end on the '16s, I prefer the look of the '15 but could live with the new front end.

Assuming you can get that price and there are no catches, it's a pretty good price for an LT. I assume this is a 45k truck, now for 34k or so? The only time I've seen much better deals is on the trucks that cost over 50k to start. Then you can occasionally see a 12-13k discount.

It says in the add, offer expires 10/31/15

Interesting, but they are still offering it through the week. I think its sales tactic to make you jump on the offer, when I first went down to the local dealership a month ago the sales guy told me it was ending Monday and I was there on Saturday...

I'm sure there are no other negotiations on any fees that they tack on at signing. I think I'm going to hold off, for now...

They had the same deals on the 2014's.

You'll have the same deals on the 2016's

But you won't get the 5/100 warranty on the 16.

Thanks!

Feel much better now!

If you're not dead set on the new style, or can't live without the 8-spd I'd say go for it. I like the '15 front end better too.

You can add the CarPlay HMI for adbout $1,200 if you really need that.

Oh yeah, that 5/100 warranty thing too.

I think you can always get deals and rebates come and go, the only problem will be your list of options will be harder to find as the 15s thin out.

That's if you want the longer warranty and don't need the 2016 changes.

What is the new warranty for the '16s? I don't think it'll be a deciding factor either way, just curious.

5/60,000 and 2 visits for maintenance in the first 24,000 miles, not 4

And I thought the trend was to keep the higher warranties to compete with the some the cheaper manufacturers offering such high mileage warranties along with the everyone promoting minimal maintenance for the 1st 100k. I guess this doesn't apply to the trucks though.

How about they build a better vehicle that doesn't use much of the warranty? I guess they were too aggressive with the maintenance plans and were losing their a$$ on it.

Having said that I'll probably still buy one :idiot:

If you think a manufacturer loses money on the 'complimentary' maintenance plan or warranty, you are sorely mistaken.

My father and close friends are in the industry, almost all shops around here have gone to flat rate. So the dealer doesn't lose out, its the people that work on on the vehicles that do. They get almost no time to do the work or at least can't make time on it. I wold think on the free maintenance the dealer hopes to up sell on other normal wear and tear items.

Although, if they were making money on it why stop the program, it is great marketing if nothing else? I can see the manufacture losing out on warranty if they're putting in transmissions under 100k miles, I don't know about the GMs but shops that I have friends and family working at the service Ford fleet trucks always have at least one in for a transmission. They claim that its not so much with the GMs.
