Cooper Discover AT3 vs BFG AT KO2?

All,

tires are coming soon on my truck. looking at a good all terrain for a truck that will live mostly in Fl, take some trips up north in the winter, see 70-80% highway commuting and take some trips off road, but nothing serious off road, it is my daily driver......

i'm looking at these two tires now. i had considered duratracs but think they will be do loud/heavy and to aggressive for what i'll do.

I've been pretty set on the BFG AT KO2 for a while now, but just recently saw the Discover AT3 and read some decent reviews.

Anyone on here have any opinions (haha....i understand what i just asked....lol) on either or use either? i'm doing my best google ninja skills and looking up reviews, videos, ect. each tire gets some mixed reviews, plenty of good sprinkled with bits of bad reviews here and there.

i'm looking at getting 275/70/18's.

Thanks.....

Well I have had AT3's before and loved them. Awesome in the rain and light off road, and quiet on the highway.

I had the same shortlist and decided on the KO2s for snow shoes. I only recently picked them up and have yet to put them on...

I ran a set of Cooper AT3's for nearly 50k miles before I switched to my current Toyo AT2's. They were good tires. Smooth and quiet on the highway, and very good in the snow. And they still had some life left in them at 50k. My only complaint was that they looked too tame for my taste. My new Toyo's really aren't much more aggressive, but slight differences in the tread and sidewall design make a big difference in the overall appearance. I've heard really good things about the new BFG's too, but don't have any experience with them personally.

We have bfg ko2s on our work truck and ive got Nitto terra graps on my daily driver. Both of these are excellent, but i do prefer my nittos out of those 2. Seem quiter and smoother but it could be the trucks themselves. The work truck is a ford after all

I am a Cooper fan, price is great usually. Check out the ATP if that is an option for you. More aggressive pattern.

Like Raw said....I'd consider the ATP as well. I run the ATP and so far I like them. They have been great in the rain so far and I think they are the perfect balance for a tire that is off road capable and a good street performer. Haven't had any regrets with my choice to go with the ATP....well, other than maybe going up a size instead of staying with the stock size. I know I'm in the minority with my last comment tho....and the only reason for feeling that way is the little hit I took on mpg going up a size. However, my truck was never seeing the stellar mpg others were getting before my tire swap.

I'm currently running the AT3s, Great tire for the price, and quiet on the road. Looking forward to testing them in the snow.

My vote is for ko2 finally got to test them in snow ice slush etc today and they did great only have about 500 miles on mine and still look brand new since they are basically lol.. Either way you can't go wrong with either tire just depends on what you want to spend but like they say you get what you pay for and paying the extra for my ko2s were well worth it and they are very quiet and smooth riding as well!

The AT3s would be my pick... have the ATPs currently. Great value and perform better than bfgs in many situations.

I have the BFG KO2's and love them. Quiet on the road and excellent off road, I live in southern AZ so we don't get much snow here but they have performed amazing throughout everything I've thrown them at.
