New wheels

I know this has probably been answered about 300+ times, but I can not seem to find an answer. I have a 2012 GMC sierra 1500 leveled and I am looking to put new wheels on it. Im going with 18x9 's but I do not know what offset I should get.

I was going to get +18mm but I want a little bit of an aggressive look. Will 33" tires rub if I went with 0mm offset?

Or can you answer this, what do you think my stock wheel offset is???

Im also looking for some good looking wheel recommendations. Heres my truck. Thanks for help!!

Is your level 2", 2,25", or 2.5"? I know for a fact that an 18x9 with +18 offset and 285/65/18 Trail Grapplers work and do not rub on a 2" level. My friend had this setup on his '08 Silverado. I have been doing tons of research myself on this topic because once winter is over I'm looking at upgrading my wheel combo. I know we are not supposed to send people to other sites, but google "gmfullsize.com nnbs level only" and there is 500 pages of good info.

From what I have gathered, running a 18x9 or 20x9 with 0 offset and a 285/65/18 or 285/55/20 tire will rub on just a 2" level. Having said that, some people are ok with doing the Nor Cal mod to get rid of rubbing. I for one do not want to hack up my truck to make tires fit.

Long story short, for larger tires stay with a positive offset. If you want the 0 offset then look into a 275/65/18 or a 285/60/18 to not rub.

Hey thanks for the help!! I have a 2" leveling kit. I think I will probably go the safe route and just stick with positive offset wheels. I do not plan on lifting any more and I dont want to mess with my truck - like you said.

Now I just have to find rims I like. I never thought it would be so hard. Maybe I am just too picky.....

Right now Fuel Krank wheels in an 18x9 with a +14 offset is my favorite. Problem for me is that I'm not sure the black and machined look will go well with my truck's color. Wheels like that would look killer on your truck.

Your stock rims should be 18x8 with a +31mm offset. I would recommend a 18x9 with +18mm offset. That's what I'm running now. I have a more aggressive stance than stock, but my tires are tucked in the fenders just enough to keep stuff from getting thrown down the side of my truck when I go down a country road. I could have went with a bit larger tire, but I haven't trimmed a thing, and mine have never rubbed in any situation, even with the big GM mud flaps.

Ok good to know. I want a decent stance, but like i definitely don't want too wide because I can't be throwing rocks on my black paint!!! Thanks for info, I will probably go with the 18mm offset!

Hey can any of you guys tell me if I need to buy aftermarket lug nuts? Or how can I find out? I contacted the seller I am going to buy the wheels from, probably wont hear back for a few days. I can wait but figured I would ask. Thanks!

If you're buying a new set of aftermarket rims from a reputable dealer, they should include new lug nuts too.

Well I got the new wheels and tires on my truck today. So happy with the look. I appreciate all of the help!

Opinions on the running boards? Should I ditch them???

my opinion--- from a looks standpoint i'd say ditch the running boards, BUT those running boards also block alot of road debri from hitting the side of the truck. If you decide to keep them have them bedlined black so they match the wheels better.
