So my 2015 gmc 3500 has this crazy hard shift from 1st to 2nd gear and 2nd to 1st. I heard it's from this.

Truck is a diesel with Allison all options

Truck has 7k on it. All highway. And never seen rain.

Dealership says it's normal...

how do I make them take my tranny out and actually fix it like this dealership in the link I posted.

Dealership is Casa De Cadillac in socal CA VAN NUYS/ Sherman Oaks CA

Weather has nothing to do with it - you've got a defective transmission due to either poor quality control, or wiring issues, or ??? Could be anything these days.

Allisons are normally really good transmissions, but clearly something isn't right there. Find another dealer if they won't fix it, and make sure GM corporate hears about the dealership that wouldn't help you.

There is no connection between your issue and the issue in the post you linked to. Other than both trucks being GM products. First thing you should be doing is documenting everything, and anytime the truck goes in for any service, you make sure you keep complaining about the shifting. You need to ensure there is a paper trail for this. With the paper trail, you are protecting yourself for after the warranty ends. You should also keep watching for any mention of a TSB for this. Keep in mind that the dealers generally get TSB as a reactive action, not a proactive action.

Don't know how GM treats diagnosis under warranty, and cannot recall how Chrysler did it way back when, but, unless there is a warranty pay procedure to diagnose something, the mechanic does not get paid. Back when I was flat rate, all service bulletins were on paper, in a binder. All licensed mechanics in our shop got all service bulletins as they came in, I still have the complete set from 1978 to 1981, dealers I worked at after that did not hand out bulletins. With TSBs being on computers, it should be easier, but, unless the technician is computer competent, it is not always easier. As hard as it is to believe, many people are not able to use a computer for the simplest of things.
