E85 is only about 40 cents cheaper where I am then premium, but with those gains, it would be worth it.

 

Was thinking about buying a 16 camaro SS, this has me thinking about the similar gains on the LT1.

 

What was your mileage on e85?

What would be the turnaround if I ship the ecu? If the weather is nice I can pull the camaro out of storage while my ecu is out.

 

Also, do you raise rev limit and adjust shift firmness and everything? I keep waiting for diablosport to offer tcm support but keep being let down.

So to reiterate, there are a couple different ways to convert. The way Rawflz quoted was to use factory lines and sensor, this gets a little complicated due to imultiple lines for different wheelbase and engine options.

 

What I am offering for $300 is a kit that allows installation of the fuel comp sensor in the fuel feed line. It includes a sensor, harness, instructions, fuel line clip spacers and everything you need to install. The tools required for installation are a deep 15mm socket, 3/8" wratchet w/3-6" extension, pocket screwdriver and tubing cutter (available for purchase on the site for $25) The kit can easily be installed in 1 hours time on a lift maybe a little more in the driveway.

Option 1: Ship ecu to me turnaround time is 1 day from when I receive to when it ships back out. A6/A8 transmissions have the TCM in the valve body so I cannot work with the transmission as part of the mail order tune.

Option 2: If you have access to hptuners we will send you info to walk you through what is required to read the tune file and e-mail it. At that point I can do full ECM/TCM tuning and send a modified tune file back that you load into the truck.

Option 3: Get together a group of 6+ people with access to a lift, contact me and I will fly out with a bunch of kits and get you taken care of over a two day period.

 

Option 1/2 = $325

Option 3, you would need to contact me to work out logistics.

My Brother-in-law Joe, had Carl do a power tune his 6.2 2015 Camaro, he was very happy with all the stuff he did to that! and that was without the E85 tuned into it.

I haven't been out on the road enough to know my mpg on my Denali, but the increase in power is Amazing...

Yet again very impressive results! I always assumed the injectors and pump and bunch of other crap was different for the E85 capability. Great R&D and tuning. Definitely some bang for buck! It's got to be a night and day difference.. :driving:

So does this mean I would have to switch between a Premium octane tune and an E85 tune? What if I'm traveling and E85 is unavailable and I put 93 in?

Fuel composition sensor reads the ethanol content and adjusts fueling/timing/etc accordingly. No need to do anything but but drive afer the tune and sensor kit are installed.

 

The only need to retune is if you are running regular fuel (which I would advise against).

Here is a picture of the GM fuel sensor Carl and his crew added to my fuel line so I can run E85. Nice clean factory looking install.

I'm averaging 9 mpg in town and 15 on a freeway trip on my past tankful. My town

is with me warming up my truck for a few minutes before my short 2 mile ride to work. My last E85 fill was only $1.41, a dollar a gallon cheaper than premium!

Oh, did I tell you, ITs Freaking Fast! Another reason my mpg' she are lower as well. I can't keep my foot out of it.

What was your mpg numbers before on regular gasoline during similar driving?

 

I'm very interested in this. Any numbers from the track stock, tuned or now with E-85 conversion? Thanks for info and share

They've already been forced to do it by past administrations - why would you roll that back when it's a GOOD thing?  WHO IS ARGUING FOR LOWER MILEAGE???? 😂  NOBODY IS!!   I'm certainly not! What I want is RELIABLE vehicles again that are worth the price paid!    I don't get your logic here ...   In 2003 I paid $2,200 for our '86 Grand Marquis. It's STILL running and I've never been inside the engine, aside for the timing cover since it was leaking, so I threw a new timing set in since that makes sense. Transmission is ORIGINAL. Electric pump in the gas tank is ORIGINAL. Rear end is ORIGINAL. I'd have to hit my head REAL hard to want to pay $60k or more for a car that still can't come close to the comfort, seating and storage space, or reliability of this one. Nothing is even in the ball park! Hundreds of thousands of brands and models have been built and sent to the crusher while this one keeps on going!   https://postimg.cc/Z9XRrCSg   I've got a whole fleet of cars, motorcycles, and a truck close to this age for summer and winter. No one could pay me enough to buy anything built this century. I have zero use for any it.
    • Since I'm the one who has to fix them when they break, I'll take vehicles over 30 years old all day, EVERY day, over ANY modern crap. Have you attempted any repairs on anything built after 2006? It's a friggin nightmare, and gets worse the newer the model year.    If I had the will or desire, I can make any car of any age outside of a Model T (I don't have THAT much will ...) just as powerful, comfortable, and have all the tech the new stuff does, and get pretty close in mileage, too. I prefer SIMPLICITY. The less the vehicle has, the less to fix WHEN it breaks, not IF.   I'm glad you snot-nosed punks don't like them. More for us, plus that keeps the prices from climbing more than they already have.👍
    • Bringing this thread back on topic. I just noticed the incredible lack of bright chrome across the entire new lineup. Even the Denali has tinted the brightwork in the grille and has none elsewhere. None of them have chrome bumpers. As far as I can tell there aren't even chrome mirror caps. I'm curious if this also happens out back? Are there no chrome rear bumpers either? This is quite the departure for GMC.
