Terrible road noise / cabin noise in my new 2016 2500 HD

Just bought 2016 GMC 2500 HD crew cab long bed 4x4 WT (vinyl floor) truck. I'm sick to my stomach because of the terrible road noise I'm experiencing. Can't pinpoint yet wether it is coming from tires, engine, or wind. Seems to come straight at the driver through the firewall.

1) anyone else experience this?

2) what is most likely cause?

3) what can I do to fix this?

I'm already dreading long road trips?

Unfortunately the WT is the lowest model hence the least sound deadening. Try some Dynamat if you have to.

Zero difference.

Go to the dealer and drive a couple other trucks to compare.

Thanks so much for your replies. I'm losing sleep over this because this new truck is replacing a 2001 Chevy just like it (2500 HD Crew cab, long bed, 4x4 vinyl floor) in addition, I have an identical 2005 at my business. I want to think that I'm just imagining things, but the sound coming through the firewall just fills up my ears while driving. It's definitely worse than my other 2 much older trucks. It sounds to me that this sound is coming from the contact of the tire on the road (drivers side tire) does not seem to change with engine RPM. I suppose I cannot rule out exhaust problem. It is a low pitch roar. I'm open to any and all suggestions. I'm fearful that the dealership will not hear it like I do, or will not have a fix for it if they do.

WT trucks lack the sound deadening of the LT and up trucks. Take it in, go back and drive a couple other trucks on the lot as well for comparison.

Welcome to the club, mine is an SLT and loud as all hell. They have thrown everything from hub assemblies to rotation and balance. My just happened overnight and I'm ready to flip. My 06 was a ton quieter. It resonates from the front left wheel well area.

Same here on my SLT.

I thought I was hearing things, but there is something going on in the left front wheel well area.

My Denali 3500HD is the quietest truck I have ever been in. Big improvement over my 2012 Silverado LTZ 3500HD. There was some serious sound deadening engineering that went into the 2015+ HDs including the fabric wheel well liners. I'm pretty sure the Denali has the same deadening material as the SLT.

What wheel well liners does the WT have? I'm pretty certain that carpeted floors makes a difference.

Hey

I don't own a 2500 (yet :P) but this article popped up on my Google Now. Are you, and everyone else, experiencing what is described in this article?

When I first read the article I thought it was some kind of Ford/Dodge financed article but after seeing this thread it makes me wonder.

Nope does not "buffet" at all, it's road noise coming from beneath the from left wheel well.
