I'm confused about the headlights on the new 2016. There are HID or LED? is this correct? I'm getting a new 2016 AT built - on my build sheet it says for the lights......

high-performance LED headlamps with GMC signature lighting.

Is this the best headlights available ... that's all I want to know..

Reviews have been good, looks like I gotta wait as he is trying bto rape me in my 14, f that I'll keep it,

Nothing to be confused about.

for sierra, HID's are standard for 2016.

Option PDP, puts LED lights into a SLT.

On an SLE, the option is included, and only available on an All Terrain.

On an SLT, the option is 'required at this time'.

From the order guide:

"PDP NEW! Headlamps, high-performance LED headlamps with GMC signature LED lighting.

for SLE - Required and only available with (GAT) All Terrain Package.
for SLT - Required on SLT at this time. Included with (PDT) SLT Crew Cab Premium Plus Package."
To sort of answer the question - yes they are great lights.
They will be priced at a premium above the HID's.
I'm happy with them. I haven't driven a 16 sierra with the factory HID's for comparison.
If you are getting an all terrain, it looks like you don't have a choice. (include on sle level GAT, and all slt's get them at this time)

Dont think you can go wrong with either headlight.

Have yet to see a 16 Sierra at night to give my opinion but my wifes 16 Impala has factory HIDs and they look great and also help you see things better.

Spent less than $130 total for HIDs and LEDs for the fogs on my 15 Sierra and 3 months in so far no issues.

Can you provide the brand and part numbers for what you bought for those light options? Where did you buy them? Thank you.

What do you mean by "all slt's get them at this time"?

What the order guide meant was that at the time (last December) all SLT's were required to order the PDP headlight option, even though HID's were standard.

This is a guess, based on experience in auto parts manufacturing business, but I'd expect this was because of supplier manufacturing capacity. They HID's were also new, and probably at start of the 2017 MY build they did not have enough tooling capacity to supply HID's for the SLT's.

The note: "Required on SLT at this time. Included with (PDT) SLT Crew Cab Premium Plus Package." was copied from the GM order guide (at that time).

The note has been removed from the order guide.

If you need any accessories, would love to help. We have couple of toys at www.eTruckGear.com and offer honest service ( with 100 % positive Amazon feedback we try hard to be there for the customer)

Stop by on Internet and take a look. Tonno Pro is a nice brand to look at. Not that well known but super quality and low price. We are also Weathertech approved, meaning warranty applies as opposed to purchases on Amazon. Don't like Weathertech? We have Husky or Maxliner. Will be glad to help.
