FedEx destroyed my package

I ordered a new radiator for my old Ford 1 ton pickup. So today FedEx left it in front of my door, the box had a big rip in it. When I took the radiator out, the bottom core row was all smashed in. What the heck do these people do with these boxes? Throw them out of a two story window to see if they can break everything inside? This really irritates me. I got a great price on the radiator and it was a decent quality brand too and they had to destroy it.

File a claim.

This time of year boxes are moving quickly and new short time hires are handling a lot of this stuff at some points

I am off work today and have to drive 2.5 hours because Purolator destroyed a package I sent and won't move it as it is too damaged now. I used a big plastic tub to ship a supercharger which is going state side and it only made it to the main depot and they already have broke it. I am building a wooden crate right now to repackage it.... and I hope nothing is wrecked or missing. They said the tub was too fragile..... well yeah when you need to pitch it off a 10 foot dock I don't imagine much would survive.... they are such retards.....

It happens to the best of them. In my area UPS and USPS are absolutely great but Fedex is a nightmare. Another thing to remember is Fedex Ground is actually contracted out where Fedex Express is delivered by actual Fedex employees. On the other hand I shipped off a radiator for a computer a couple months ago and USPS drove a forklifts fork right through it. But I was impressed as they paid the claim within 72 hours of the submission.

This is inside a FedEx hub (not even a peak day). With a weight limit of 150 lbs., smaller, lighter packages are going to get damaged if not packed properly. It's cheaper for UPS, FedEx, etc., to fight claims than slow down and handle packages more gently. It's all about the volume.

if you think the shipping companies are bad, you should see the inside of a Walmart trailer: all 53' from nose to tail, and from floor to ceiling is stacked with merchandise, everything from dry food, to bicycles and even HIGH DOLLAR Electronics (TVs worth up to $1,000; $500 laptops, $300 Printers, $200 Blu-Ray Players etc.) is at the mercy of the Driver's skill (or sometimes, the lack thereof) I once saw a driver back GENTLY into our store's dock, but it took FOUR PEOPLE (myself included) to get the trailer door open because the blocking pallet (usually a 6' high pallet of dog food or other pallet of heavy merchandise) had shifted against the door somewhere between the Distribution Center in Hopkinsville, KY and our Store.
