BB tuned 6.2 8 speed

Figured I would throw my thoughts on here as there are not many people that have ECM and TCM tuning done on the new 8 speeds.

My request to Justin was pretty simple correct my speedo for 275/60s, AFM off, and a solid smooth 93 octane tune. Im not looking to gain to every last HP drop in it as its a truck not a race car. I was really looking for better drivability as the stock TCM and ECM tuning felt like driving a sponge.

First thoughts after the short install, finally some throttle response. It actually feels like the motor is connected to the gas pedal now thank GOD. Shifting is defiantly quicker and crisper now. Just a slight push of the gas pedal will immediately downshift the tranny a few gears and always right to that 3,000-3,500 RPM sweet spot where she will really start pulling from. No more surging or helicopter noise with the AFM off either.

Only bad thing is some occasional hard downshifts around 30 MPH when coasting. I do not think that is the tune though I believe that is the TCM trying to re learn everything. My truck did the same thing stock and it went away on its own after a few thousand miles.

I only have about 10 miles and about 20 minutes of drive time with the new tune so Im sure Ill start noticing some additional things as I drive it more so these are just my very immediate findings and results. Truck is mostly stock, current mods are in sig and just broke 8000 miles....And yes I have some videos to come....

I like a linear pedal..... and every custom tune I have gotten that I didn't write jacks the pedal so you have anything but linearity. Mine is pretty linear stock..... and I wouldn't want anyone messing with that. Sounds like the only transmission issues I have are not addressed in custom tuning. I looked at the tables both in EFI and HP and I don't think you can fix it.... yet. They are pretty limited on tranny settings for now. One day maybe lol.

Yeah a peppy pedal doesn't mean it's fast. That's trickery to the mind. lol

Yep..... suddenly 25% pedal can give you 50% or more at the throttle blade...... it's a rocket! Lol.

Did you happen to take any before video for a benchmark? I have tried comparing your speedo vid to a speedo vid of my truck to see if yours gets to 100 faster than mine does. After messing around with YouTubeDoubler it seems we would run pretty even, which is saying a lot about the tune because I have 3.42 gears and stock tires. So for you to have 3.23s and a heavier tire and run as strong as mine, yours is pullin pretty strong after that tune.
