M5 and tow haul together

Hey guys I have read that to keep the nnbs trucks out of 4 mode you can run it in m5 and that it will not cause any damage I k it works just want to verify that it will not cause damage also I've read guys are running their trucks in tow haul mode and the shifting is better also I have tried this and I like how it shifts also want to confirm that it won't cause damage if I run it in th all the time. My next question is if I run the truck in m5 and tow haul together will this cause any damage I am wanting to know if it is ok to do this for daily driving at least until I can either get it tuned or get a hand held tuner

Tow/haul will hurt your fuel economy and that's about it. Personally, I'd just run M4 at speeds under 40mph and M5 under 55mph without tow/haul.

As said it wont hurt nothing but fuel mileage, I ran M5 with tow haul when I had my 6.2 and was towing it felt just about perfect shift wise and the transmission ran a bit cooler with the tow button pushed.

I'm headed to pa in about a week will be running around 70+- mph on m thinking about just running th so I can have 6 th gear or will it make a difference

Running in tow haul will not cause any damage you can run in tow haul as long as you want all that is is a different tune that holds your gears longer for when you are towing or hauling so it's a little easier on the truck and the truck isn't constantly looking for gears and shifting m5 should keep the afm from activating but your fuel mileage will suffer from not having your final overdrive gear so if fuel mileage is not as issue you can rund in m5 all you like and no it will not cause any damage not shifting into overdrive it will just run at a higher rpm it's ok to do for anytime driving. Your best option is to get yourself a good custom tune that will disable the afm so you don't have to run the truck around at the higher rpm running around in tow haul all of the time I don't know why you would think these is damage going to be caused from running in tow haul and M5 but nothing is going to happen just suffer fuel mileage and higher rpm that's all get a tune and you have the best of both worlds no more afm and you can actually drive at a normal rpm and not have to drive in m5 or in tow haul so a tune would be a great idea. If you plan on running at 70+ be careful because our speed limit here in PA is 65 so don't push the issue and your fuel mileage will suffer for sure going that fast in m5 with the higher rpm on the highway.

Cool thanks sorry if I repeated some things that are probly in other posts just want to make sure I've heard diff things from other ppl that said oh you shouldn't do that it won't function properly blah blah blah and being this is my first real truck purchase and not having it very long I don't want to do something stupid. What is the best tune for these trucks I want the best bang for my buck also I've never had anything tuned before so I don't know what I'm doing I want to have better throttle response and afm delete also like the better shifting that it has for tow haul

My tow haul button pushes the minimum rpm at shift to about 2200 rpm (under light gas), no afm on my truck,

I tow my 8000 boat on the highway in Tow Haul M5 ...
