What happens if you cut off the 3rd cat and drove with it just like that?

As in no muffler or tailpipe? It'll be real loud, but probably sound terrible. You might lose some bottom end power too.

I started with cutting just the rear resonator off of mine and wasn't happy at all with it so moved up to the muffler and cut it off right prior to the inlet and sounded decent, but idle was really low if any sound and then moved up to the third cat and cut it off right after both the O2 sensors aft of the front two cats like an idiot and was a great sounding idle because it was similar to turn downs right under the cab but entirely too loud in the cab and also got a check engine light because the sensors were damn near exposed to air. lol I guess we learn from our mistakes right? That being said, I have since got true dual straight pipes installed from where I cut both pipes off, no cat/mufflers/resonators, and ran it to the back at 45 degress to 5 inch tips.I do not have any pop, crackle, or issues with check engine lights anymore and am a happy camper. Also, according to the dealership they will still honor the warranty incase of any issues with O2 sensors forward.
