Power Surge without throttle increase

I am having an issue with a "power" surge in my 15 slt crew. When accelerating from a stop it is as if I throttle up more when my foot has not moved. Feels like somethings holding me back then all the sudden bam I have full power.

My truck is currently at the service dept for vibration issues.

I would like them to also take a look at this issue. It is much more apparent to me as the loaner 15 sierra 5.3 I have does not do this and is much more responsive from a stop.

 

Has anyone had this issue addressed? Recommendations?

I have a 15 Silverado LT. Does the same thing. Transmission #1 was worse than #2, but it is still there. One of the ten times it has been in the shop I had a different 15 LT. It had the same thing, about the same as transmission #2. I think it is something for fuel economy.

The fin part is they gave me a 16 as a loaner the last time in and it did not have this characteristic. First couple of times taking off from a stop I was spinning the tires.

Has anyone found a cure for this issue? When under load (towing) I can feed it almost jolting going up him at 3500-4000k rpm. Drives me nuts!

Are you saying the exhaust flapper valve? How could this cause a power surge?
