from what I have read they figure with 150 driver and full fuel.

I was also told to use this link:

http://www.gmfleetorderguide.com/NASApp/domestic/proddesc.jsp?year=2015&regionID=1&divisionID=2&type=0&vehicleID=17048&section=modelhome&page=&butID=1#

However the numbers from that link I have yet to see on the line. Not unless that is the weight before driver and fuel, but even then link numbers are still higher.

Also getting conflicting info as whether you can go over payload as long as under axle rating for a 5th wheel.

I tell ya they really need to open the gap up, 2500 gas tows roughly the same as 3500, 2500 cc duramax kinda pointless with the payload so low

Fine print at the bottom of the order guide page says "Maximum payload capacity includes weight of driver, passengers, optional equipment and cargo."

Your usage will determine which specification is your limiting factor.

You shouldn't violate any of them. (payload, axle ratings, gvwr, gcwr, etc)

The place where the Duramax bumps up the capability specs is on max trailer rating for 5th wheel/gooseneck - especially on a 3500 dually. example: 2wd CC LB dually - 6.0 rating is 13,700lb, 6.6 rating is 22,900lb.
