Guage Face Install

Recommended Posts

I am looking at a new gauge faceplate for my truck, but I am not sure how hard they are to install?  Anyone have any input?

Thanks!

It's not hard at all, takes maybe  1/2 hour.  Just make sure you mark where your needles are pointing and you re install them correctly.  I think when i did mine, there are like 4 bolts you need to remove to take out the gauge cluster, then you just slap the new on. (After taking the old one off of course)

It is very simple...  Like was mentioned before, the biggest hurdle is to put your needles back on in the right spot.  I put all mine back on in the right spot except for the tach, which is between 100-150 RPM too high.  I'll have to fix it one of these days when I'm bored...

I am assuming the instructions that come with it are pretty good?

The instruction are fine...

Write down the needle settings with the truck warm and at idle, or with the ignition turned to "on".

You just pop off the bezel around the gage cluster.  Remove the 4 (I think 7mm bolts).  Pull the cluster out and unplug it.  Then unsnap the plastic cover off of it.

My NR-Auto gage face came with a tool to remove the needles but I didn't need to use it.  They just pulled off.

The stock overlay just peels off.  It's held on by glue of some sort.  Position the new one in the right place and then stick it on.

Plug the cluster in, and bring the truck back up to temp, and then re-install the needles where they should be.

Put the plastic cover on, and bolt the cluster in place and snap on the bezel!!!

Piece of cake!!!
