How is rear entertainment system on the crew cab trucks?

We have that 3 of the 4 Tahoe body styles. We have become accustomed to the Tahoe rear entertainment. It has always been one fold down screen. How do the people that have the screens in the back of the head rests like them? Any issues or complaints?

I have the rear entertainment in my CC truck but it is like the Tahoe/Yukon system with one big fold down screen. I haven't seen the in headrest ones on the new trucks.

Is the vehicle you're referring to the one in your sig? I wonder if it's a typo or they have changed it? I only see the dual headrest monitors option when I build one online.

I just built a Denali cc truck and it offered the single or dual rear entertainment systems. Why wouldn't the SLT offer the same?!

The fold down system is available on SLT and should be about $1500. They're tough to find on the lot but can be ordered, just talk to your dealer.

I had ordered it in the '16 Silverado LTZ that I ended up not buying. I found headrest tablet based system that we're pretty happy with at this point.

Yes you have 2 options to the entertainment systems, the dual headrest DVD player system and the Blu Ray with the drop down screen from the roof. The Chevrolet build and price website does not show the Blu Ray single drop down screen as an option but I can confirm it is available as I had just ordered it on my 2016 Silverado. The nice thing about the single screen Blu Ray option is you can control it from your Mylink screen where as the dual headrest DVD players you cannot.

Yes, the truck in my sig has the single drop down screen. I have been in cars/SUVs with the headrest screens and I personally prefer the single drop down screen. Like Red said above, you'll be hard pressed to find a truck on the lot with the rear seat entertainment in it. I ordered my truck built the way I wanted it.

In the days of Tablets, not many people want the built-in entertainment systems... they're going the way of the dodo bird.

Yeah, in retrospect, I might wouldn't have ordered it had this occurred to me. The truck build is already underway so I'll deal with it.

I have the dvd headrest units. No complaints from the kids. Do note that it is manufactured by rosen not by gm.

What's the significance of who it's manufactured by? I've never heard of Rosen.

There isn't any integration into the factory head unit like I had in my chevy tahoe with the single screen. No importance with the manufacturer really. Although they do produce several units for alot of different makes and models. I can see some people not getting it since its not a gm product.

If you have young kids, having the fold down OEM system is great because everything can be controlled from the front, it's better integrated. Older kids can manage the headrest systems. The tablet system that we had installed afterward looks like the original headrests, has DVD players in each that can be watched on both screens, can run Netflix or other wifi based apps as long as we have a wifi connection and they can run downloaded content on microSD cards. Plus it came with screen covers so they aren't as noticeable when not in use.

Man. You can get two iPads with headrest mounts for way cheaper. Pair with a Wi-Fi hotspot and you have Netflix on the go. Better option than a DVD based system.

I have the Rosen setup as well. Trust me, it is alot better than iPads with kids and chargers. My little one likes to watch a movie and play with his iPad sometimes. Call Walt at ADC Mobile.
